Yeah, he can be a little clunky, and it was hard to understand at parts (thanks IBM!).

I'm reading his latest book, and it's... well, it's different. I'm not sure I quite get it, but I'm only about a 1/4 through. I'm still in the reflections part, but it doesn't seem to have a theme.

I'll keep reading.

Donald Trump LOST the election.

If you aren't interested in discussing the theme of the thread, fine.

Let's talk about the WORST PRESIDENT EVER in the history of the USA.

Let's talk about someone whose STUPIDITY and INCOMPETENCE have already done lasting damage.

Let's talk about someone whose MENTAL ILLNESS makes him a danger to society.

Is ANYONE STUPID ENOUGH to believe the little sore loser's claim that he actually "won" in a "landslide"?

I guess if someone is STUPID enough to believe that, then it would be consistent with being TOO STUPID to acknowledge that CLIMATE CHANGE is wreaking havoc on the capacity of the earth to sustain us.

I can't stop anyone from trolling my threads.

But if you refuse to respect the theme of the thread, I'll make a point to remind you that the PATHETIC ORANGE MAN is a LOSER.

An incredibly STUPID loser at that.

Donald Trump LOST the election. DUH!

Honestly, sealover, when it comes to DT, he's an ****. On the other hand, he's always been one and, for the most part, admitted he was one. It's not like we don't know that.

I'm not worried about DT. I'm worried about the people who vote for him.

Maximizing Carbon Sequestration in Terrestrial Ecosystems?

"GretaGroupie" is not here to ask questions about carbon sequestration.

Nothing posted by this new member suggests there is anything genuine to respond to.

Just another flippant mockery of what this website was intended to be.

Was never a Trump fan, even before he got into politics. Just another spoiled rich-boy... But, he did do a lot of good for the country, which Biden screwed up in his first few weeks. We went from a bright future, to back, tumbling into a dark abyss of high inflation, gas prices, and uncertainty. How's that 4th dose of vaccine working out for you? Do you feel fully protected? Even the 'experts' have walked back, to 'milder' symptoms, at best. No longer crucial to stopping this deadly plague from spreading. Never did, and never would have, even if they had successfully forced compliance.

Climate Change, is similar to the covid vaccines. No matter how much political/religious agenda you attempt to force on the world, it'll change nothing. Nor will you ever force full compliance. Burning stuff, releases useful energy. Where we want it, when we need it. Combustible materials are plentiful, easy and cheap to acquire. Nature burns quite a bit every year. It's what's normal, and natural, efficient.

Most all of the articles you've posted so far, are poorly written. Considering your target audience, it's just self-serving, techno-bullshit. The points you try to illustrate are vague, and very subtle. Only another biogeoliberal will get the joke/point of them. I took biology, chemistry, and a few other sciences, while going to school, and in college. Useful stuff, but not really my main field of interest. I can follow just enough of your babbling, to know it's garbage. It might be breakthrough nonsense in your niche, but not noteworthy in the general population. Which, is probably what brings you to this site. The rest of the internet isn't impressed, or giving you much notice/attention. Much like your entire life, and career. Kind of pathetic, really. There are multiple websites, for most any field of interest. My interest, is mainly electronics, robotics. I've been a member of quite a few, until I found the right fit, for my specific interests, and experience. It's not that easy though. Some have really strict rules, and really dry, sticking entirely to just electronics, and nothing else. They didn't allow potentially dangerous, or projects that could be used illegally. They didn't allow projects, that would be of course fail, or just disappoint. It's not always a final product, but what's learn by taking the journey. I've been on sites that were truly embarrassing. Basically no rules, no project too controversial/illegal/dangerous. Pretty much anything banned from every other site, not even a little subtle about it. Some interesting stuff, but it wasn't just electronics either, that made it such a cesspool.

I never really had a whole lot of interest in Climate Change, or politics in general, until it started to hit too close to home. Not because I live in Florida, but all the carbon-tax crap, and everything else that involves my paycheck, and lifestyle choices. I like the independence of driving myself. Sitting around, waiting for a bus, train, or plane waste a lot of time. I don't like being put on a schedule, how or when. Most of the climate change websites are just what you seem to want here, a choir, chanting mantra, rejecting anything not in the IPCC assessment reports. I quickly learned most were no-thinking morons, just regurgitating what they though made them appear smart, but didn't really understand.

Just like your usual pattern. When you have no argument you call people psychos and start throwing insults.

You refuse to define 'climate change', making your arguments using this buzzword void.
You obviously have no idea how GPS or other navigation systems work.
You describe stuff that you believe occurred in history accurately as if you were there, when we both know you were not.

You call this religion of yours 'science'.

Then you try to blame YOUR problems on someone else.

When you can't get away with that, you start throwing insults and throwing the word psycho around.

Science has NO theories about past unobserved events. They are not falsifiable.
Attempting to prove any religion True or False is fundamentalism.

I am not trying to prove anything. I am simply pointing out that your religion is not science. You don't know what happened in the past. Everything you are describing is mere speculation. You weren't there.

LOL your schizzo argument is that if you did not see it happen that it is not real, and that anyone who disagrees that you determine reality has a competency issue.

So are you DOD, NSA, CIA or QVC? can't be FBI because even they are not this dumb, usually anyway.

Let's talk about the WORST PRESIDENT EVER in the history of the USA.

In my book that would be an even tie between Jackson and FDR.
Pres. Jackson founded the Democrat party. He also funded himself and his buddies by stealing land from the indians, killing their braves, and sending their elderly, women, and children on a long march without supplies to 'reservations'. It became known as the Trail of Tears, still remembered to this day, and so are the reservations.

Pres. Franklin Roosevelt created the massive welfare system, a system that takes money by force (taxes) from productive people and gives it to unproductive people. It is designed to replace charity (voluntarily helping those in need). It is communism. That system is with us today. The Constitution never gave him or Congress any such authority to create such communism. He also outlawed the ownership of gold, stealing it all, and replacing it with fiat currency. That was when Fort Knox was built, to house all that stolen gold. After devaluation after devaluation, any reference to a gold standard was finally officially abandoned in 1964 by Nixon. FDR also caused an economic downturn to turn into a depression to last well into the early 50's; the effects of which are still around today.

Psychoquackery.

Let's talk about a danger to society.

Communism (a form of socialism), which is government ownership of markets. Theft by taking of property.
Fascism (a form of socialism), which is government manipulation of markets. Theft by regulations and market manipulation.
Slavery (a form of socialism), which is ownership of people for the purpose of stealing their labor.

ALL are theft of wealth. ALL have started wars. It is these that the Democrats want.

The evidence that the election faulted cannot be denied:
* seven States never chose their electors.
* trucks carrying ballots intercepted while trying to enter Canada.
* security footage at election centers of workers filling out ballots, running them through the machine multiple times, pulling out cases of ballots after hours, ejecting observers and counting unobserved after hours, etc.
* hundreds of affidavits filed by witnesses, both Republican and Democrat, of election fraud in counting centers. These are signed and notarized documents, under penalty of perjury.
* counts changing after hours that are beyond any reasonable probability.
* changing election laws after the fact.
* changing election laws in an unconstitutional manner.
* demonstrated weaknesses in the software used in the counting machines, including the ability to hack them, program them to weight counts, etc.
* greater dependency on mass mail in ballots, many times unconstitutionally, and which have no tracking of authenticity.
* counting the same fake ballots again to 'confirm' the count.
* elections results called by those with no authority to call them, including newspapers, executive branches of governments, etc.
* Congress choosing electors for a State (they have no authority to do this).

I could go on, but these are all public record. They are history. They cannot be denied. The election of 2020 faulted. Biden was never elected. He was installed as part of a silent coup by Democrats. The United States has fallen. Democrats discard the Constitution of the United States and the constitutions of the various States. What was the federal government has been turned into an oligarchy. Some parts still function, but the leadership is an oligarchy.

The independent States of America are now each deciding their futures, whether to ally with The Oligarchy, remain independent, or attempt to form a union under some kind of constitution.

Civil war is a very real possibility now. The Democrats are playing a very dangerous game.

There will come a time when such tyranny is defeated. At what cost remains to be seen.

He is a successful businessman. He knows what it takes to run a business.
He has shown success after success as a president, despite the utter lack of support and even hate mongering from Democrats.

* He expanded the wall along the borders of Mexico, despite Democrat efforts to kill it.
* He expanded oil and coal production by getting government out of the way, making the United States a net exporter of oil and lowering gas prices.
* He brought many businesses back to the U.S. by getting government out of the way and lowering corporate taxes.
* He lowered income taxes across the board (everyone, not just the rich), and simplified the tax forms.
* He successfully renegotiated the NAFTA treaty to better favor the U.S.
* He successfully got NATO to pay it's bills.
* He offered the assistance of federal troops to contain the violence plaguing U.S. cities being caused by Antifa and BLM, both funded and supported by Democrats.
* He responded to the Covid virus by successfully negotiating with several companies to provide hospital equipment as needed, and got government out of the way to develop vaccines in record time.
* He did NOT shut down the economy. There was no need to. DEMOCRATS shut down the economy and threw it into a depression that has lasted years. Many businesses were destroyed in that depression.
* He successfully exposed the bias in media sources such as CNN, MSNBC, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Google, Amazon, Microsoft, the Associated Press, the New York Times, and L.A. Times, and numerous other sources.
* He started NO wars.
* He stands for and supports the Constitution of the United States, and for each of the State constitutions.
* He pulled the teeth of the Obamacare law, an unconstitutional law based on communism and fascism.

Yeah. I'll happily vote for the Trump again.

Trump would have been a great president. He had all the right ideas on the direction this country should be taking. Unfortunately, he like attention too much. A media-whore, drama-queen. Most of what he considered humor, was over the liberal's heads, and taken seriously. Rather than admit they were taken in, they just ran with it, politically. The Russia investigation came from an off-the-cuff comment during a campaign rally. Doubt Putin, or any Russians were listening in, or took it seriously. When Trump ask Russia to help find Hilary's missing emails.

Another 4 years of Trump, would be another mostly wasted 4 years. Trump managed to get quite a bit done, but only a fraction of what was need, or what could have been accomplished, if he wasn't joking around, pissing people off.

I got a "B" once. We called them "D"s back then.

By the 1990s, GPAs had become meaningless.

Wealthy kids' parents were paying good money for good grades. They got them.

Doonesbury had a great comic about it.

An old professor was sympathizing with the aggrieved student.

"I know how you feel. I got a 'B' once. In those days we called them 'D's."

Honestly, sealover, when it comes to DT, he's an ****. On the other hand, he's always been one and, for the most part, admitted he was one. It's not like we don't know that.

I'm not worried about DT. I'm worried about the people who vote for him.

I still support Trump and would still vote for him, should he run for an office.

The years were not wasted. He accomplished quite a lot, despite Democrats fighting him every step of the way. Trump won't compromise with them. There is no need to.

He did what needed to be done...expose their lies and the media that supports them.

Putin was listening in. You might remember his comment when Trump was accused of renting whores in Moscow:
"Trump is in charge of the world beauty pageant. He doesn't need to come to Moscow to rent whores...but we do have the best whores!"

No, Trump was accused of being backed by Russia (why would a socialist like Putin want a conservative in office anyway??!?) because the Democrats were inverting what Hillary was doing selling nuclear materials to Russia.

Democrats often describe themselves and try to blame others for what they are.

Trump happens to be good at trolling them. It was quite refreshing to see that in a politician, actually.

Wrong again Over the last 2.6 million years alone, the magnetic field switched ten times or every 260,000 years — and, because the most recent occurred a whopping 780,000 years ago we are currently overdue which may be why magnetic North is currently wandering.

How do you know? Were you there?

Your ignorance is perfect

Look kid, it does not matter how sincere your belief is that if I was not there then it did not happen is, because this belief is rooted in your psychosis and inability to deal with why your Mother locked you in the closet so many times

GretaGroupie wrote:

Carbon isn't in the sea (unless some coal barge accidentally sank or something).

Carbon dioxide isn't carbon. Carbon dioxide is already in the sea, at about the same concentration as in the air above it. This varies from place to place across the ocean. Carbon dioxide is not uniformly distributed in the air.

When carbon dioxide is dissolved in water, a small amount (about 1%) becomes carbolic acid. This small amount is easily buffered by the sea water and the sea remains alkaline.

The pH of sea water is also not uniform. It is not possible to measure the pH of the oceans. This is for the same reason that the temperature of the Earth cannot be measured. We simply don't have enough thermometers to even begin a sensible summary of this type.

I would consider such a person a failure, not able to lead. You first pick is also based on racism and bigotry. Racism and bigotry are both compositional error fallacies.

Let's look at greed first.

A business, any business, cannot survive without profit. The whole reason you go into business or invest in one is to make money. That's essentially greed. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Such businesses are voluntarily making products and services that you voluntarily buy. This is a productive economy. It is capitalism. It is the only economic system can can create wealth.

Without profit, the business dies. It may go into bankruptcy. At such times, it may be sold to someone else that knows how to run the business better and make it productive.

Indeed, the answer to world peace is profit. You don't shoot your customers.

Now let's talk about meanness.

Voluntarily producing products or services that people want to voluntarily buy is certainly not meanness. It is serving your fellow man. Any business that fails to serve their fellow man is going to lose profit and go out of business. Serving is how you make profit. Serving others is how to be successful.

Democrats want to (and have) implement socialism. This is theft of wealth. It does not create wealth. They want to dictate who wealth is taken from and who receives it. The only way to implement such theft is by force. Only oligarchies and dictatorships can implement such theft. Democrats discard and deny the Constitution of the United States and all State constitutions.

Democrats are racist. They are also bigots. They constantly try to compartmentalize people in little boxes by gender, by race, by age, and many other factors of which people have no control over. They have always been this way and still are. It was Democrats that fought for slavery during the War of Secession (what most people call the 'Civil war'). It was Democrats that put indians on reservations and stole their lands. It was Democrats that locked the economy down and kept people in their homes because they MIGHT be infected (bigotry and false imprisonment).

"It's for the children" is bigotry by age.
"It's to save the elderly" is bigotry by age.
"It's to help out the black community" is racism.

Democrats also censor. They want no opposing views to be heard at all. To be dissident is to be a criminal. You can see it in Democrat owned businesses like Twitter, Facebook, Google (and Youtube), Apple, Microsoft, etc. You can see such attempts even here on this forum. You can see it on other forums as well.

Why? Because the truth hurts, that's why. They can't allow the truth of what they are to become accepted widespread. They would lose power.

They ban guns (or try to) because they want total control. An armed society cannot be controlled. Democrats are afraid of a revolt. They should be. People don't like their wealth being stolen. People don't like the tyranny.

Conservatives want to let you succeed or fail by your own efforts. They do not want to steal. They do not want to force. They do not want to ban guns. They trust the people to look out for their own affairs. People in general are actually pretty nice and reasonably intelligent. Conservatives understand this and trust them. It is conservatives that uphold the Constitution of the United States and all State constitutions.

I am not talking about Republicans. I am talking about conservatives.

Some (quite a lot of them actually) are RINOs. Republican in name only. They are Democrats under a false flag.

So much for meanness.

Is Trump mean? No. Sure, he's a bit of a loud mouth, and he returns some of the meanness of the Democrats back to them by trolling them, but what he stands for is conservatism. He ran as a Republican for President and won, and spent much of that time identifying RINOs and attempting to get people to vote for conservatives instead.

Trump wants people to succeed or fail on their own, each according to their own will and initiative. He wants liberty. He wants uniform open carry and concealed carry laws without permits. He knows the best defense against a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. He knows most people are good guys (yes, that includes gals). He wants to get government out of the way of business so the working man can prosper. He wants to lower the tax burden on everyone (not just the so-called 'rich'). He wants to open the path to capitalism, where ANYONE that wants to can become rich.

Trump started no wars. Democrats and socialists have authored some truly horrible wars and even genocide.

Putin is a socialist. He started the war as the aggressor against Ukraine. Putin is not afraid of Biden or the Democrats. He has no respect for them. It's why Putin wants them in power. Putin does not want a conservative like Trump in power.

Hitler and Mussolini and Stalin were socialists. They threw the world into WW2. The genocide against the Jews is still legendary to this day.

Trump is neither a socialist, nor a dictator, nor mean.

Trump is truly conservative, which is why the Democrats went so ape-shit over it. Trump is a real threat to them. So much so that they still try to destroy his reputation, even though he is not longer in office. Trump is living rent free in their heads. Democrats are terrified he will be elected to office, or those that Trump supports will be elected to office.

Hey idiot, while I am not sure that your feeble mind can understand, but my insults are real and not fallacies. So did your Mom ever give you back your crayons?

Well, I'm here because i admire Greta sooo much, and I'm trying to get the hang of all this. I don't understand all the terms and math, so I'm just trying to provide some polite chit-chat so I can learn more.

Carbon seaquestration: putting carbon back in the sea.

After thought: have you ever noticed how most threads here sooner or later just become a bunch of name calling? I may not always be on topic, but at least I'm not rude.

I simply use the principle of Occam's razor and call a schizzo a schizzo. Life is simpler that way

I "Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

You are not arguing. You are insulting people. A fallacy.

LOL, perhaps if you draw me a crayon sketch of your Mother putting you in the closet I will argue with you again?

Swan! Why would you ever use someone else's razor? It's so unsanitary. Live a little, splurge, and buy your own dam razors.

Oops! I must be on the wrong thread.

Nope, you're in the right place, but think of it more like a party.

What if you got all dressed up, went out one night to have a fun time, and everyone just kept talking about the same thing over and over and over and over.... (you get the idea).

The key to a well adjusted social life is to allow a conversation to evolve, explore new avenues and continue to mystify and entertain.

In other words, don't let this happen to your thread:

Profit motive and sex are what drive all the good things in this world.

I don't know much, but after I ran away from home when I was 14 and spent the next two years selling myself on the street, I can tell you profit motive and sex are not always good.

I'm not ashamed or embarrassed by what I did. I'd have probably ended up dead anyways if I hadn't run away. Besides, I finally did meet the prof while hustling, and that changed everything for me. But I can tell you there are some really sick people out there who use profit and sex to hurt others and they don't care.

I know there are people who do good, but if you're gonna make a blanket statement like that, you might want to broaden your horizons a bit first.

PS - I still think you're a genius with just a touch of madness. In fact, we're like:

Let's look at greed first.

Wow, that was a lot to take in, but I think I get your point. I'll see if I can give an example by writing 3 things that are NOT true:

1. Gretagroupie is a genius.
2. The USA is a democracy.
3. Russia is communist.

I guess the problem isn't what people say things are, but the people who are saying it because, deep down, they're not being honest.

Occam's razor, also spelled Ockham's razor, also called law of economy or law of parsimony, principle stated by the Scholastic philosopher William of Ockham (1285–1347/49) that pluralitas non est ponenda sine necessitate, "plurality should not be posited without necessity." The principle gives precedence to simplicity: of two competing theories, the simpler explanation of an entity is to be preferred. The principle is also expressed as "Entities are not to be multiplied beyond necessity."

The principle was, in fact, invoked before Ockham by Durandus of Saint-Pourçain, a French Dominican theologian and philosopher of dubious orthodoxy, who used it to explain that abstraction is the apprehension of some real entity, such as an Aristotelian cognitive species, an active intellect, or a disposition, all of which he spurned as unnecessary. Likewise, in science, Nicole d'Oresme, a 14th-century French physicist, invoked the law of economy, as did Galileo later, in defending the simplest hypothesis of the heavens. Other later scientists stated similar simplifying laws and principles.
