A sham, and an expensive game to play. Those things are just a trip down the tubes. They aren't fun anymore.

Better to head to the pit games or the poker tables, if you're going to gamble in a casino. Of these, poker has the best odds (once you become a competent player) since you are playing against other players, not the casino; and craps, which has the best odds of any pit game.

Stay off of blackjack. Casinos have modified the payouts of blackjacks and dealer play sequence so the odds in blackjack are horrible. IF you can find one that still pays 2:1 for blackjacks and the dealer must stand on soft 17, that table is good odds (for blackjack).

What really gets the gambler is not the odds, however. It's the noise floor (the randomness of the game). To illustrate:

You have $100 to play. You win $50, then lose $60. It's up and down. If you win all the chips on a table, the casino just brings more chips. If you lose all your $100, the game is over.

In other words, the casino has far more bullets than you do. You are outgunned. Given time, you WILL lose. The odds don't really matter here. A coin flip would be the same thing (just slower).

IF you win all the chips on the table, then run to the cashier to cash out, the casino can back up that payment because of all the people that didn't do that. That payment is literally a drop in the bucket for them.
