This is why about any solution needs to allow for economies to remain viable. At the same time people haven't read all of the IPCC's reports. Why is burning trees a carbon neutral policy in the EU? That's because the IPCC reports actually suggest that ozone depletion in the lower stratosphere is what is influencing AGW. And once they were "on board" with CO2, they very well couldn't go back and say that they had gotten the cause wrong, could they? And since depletion of the ozone layer is AGW then when they say "with 95% confidence", they are still right. Notice the play with words? If it's CFCs and other such aerosols and not CO2, they are still right. |
