ITN and IBDM,
If you guys wanted to be polite and respectful, could you do it?
It may have been too long. You may not remember how.

Imagine a cold winter's day. You are sitting in your big beautiful warm home, just thinking how blessed you are to live in a country with all the freedoms to allow a person to earn everything good that life has to offer.

Suddenly, there's a knock on the door. There is a crazy turd on your front stoop. He is wildly passionate about proposing changes that will utterly destroy every opportunity for your children that you have enjoyed over the years, and it's all based on things you KNOW to not be true! He wants you to join the good fight.

Do you invite him in for cookies and milk?

What country is that? I'd like to live there. It would be nice to have the healthcare I need so I can work and support my country. Sadly, I live in the US and it benefits doctors for me not to work. They are protecting their reputation and not their wealth. I have insurance but they won't take it.

p.s., Harvey55 said it's all my fault because if I learn to follow orders liek my father, then I would have had his good health. Of course Nazis did not allow for dissent when they occupied countries. It was compulsory like the Republican party is today.

GasGuzzler, and yet miners in Kentucky know that clean energy is replacing coal because it's cost competitive. As for natural gas, it's a finite resource like coal, are we managing our resources or merely unhappy because corporate profit is what we need to consider?
This is the part of the debate where people invariably fail. A lot of technological innovation is actually driven because innovation creates opportunity. If we hinder innovation then we can support "Old Money" and help protect the wealth of people who oppose innovation.
That's what the actual debate might be about. It doesn't change your expenses or taxes, but you oppose innovation. It's sad that people don't see the debate as what it's for. Like Harvey55 said, natural gas is cheaper for now. Why coal plants are closing. What happens when natural gas becomes more expensive?
With what you say, we could all be driving Edsels today and we would be better for it. It was a good car in 1958 but would you buy a new one today when compared to what's on the market? That's your debate.
What's better? A 58' Edsel http://edsel.com/pages/edsel58.htm or this https://www.ford.com/cars/fusion/?fmccmp=lp-cars-mid-hp-fusion if they were both on the same car lot and fresh off of the assembly line?
You'd still buy the Edsel if they made them today. You'd also say we don't need smartphones or the internet. We also didn't need the Apollo space program.
Basically, you'd be against everything that made the US a world leader. This is the same problem that ITN as a Native American has. The world is in a constant state of flux.
Could you imagine if a white man from Europe knocked on your door? And he was selling turds? Native Americans say the same thing that you say. If only the world never changed. Unfortunately it's an overpopulated world because people like your parents have kids. Change allows for the change in population. They go hand in hand.

It's funny. This forum used to have a section you had to be polite and respectful but it was deleted. Doesn't take any new posts. If you wanted to be rude you had to go to the section we're on.

Corn makes more money in Iowa than maize does. It also makes more money in Kentucky (bourbon). Alcohol and tobacco make money. Why the colonies were valued by England. Tobacco allowed for snuff.
Indians had land that they grew maize on. Economics dictated change was necessary. So instead white man grew corn to make alcohol and tobacco to make snuff. Economics dictated policy.
So you are right IBDM, Native Americans were in the way of economy, commerce, industrialization, etc.
Or was it a growing world population meant that change was necessary to allow for exponential population growth?
If every man and woman each have a total of 3 children, then in 20 years, 340 million people becomes 510 million people and in 2060, there would be 750 million people living in the US.
Such exponential growth requires innovation. Otherwise we become Mexico.

Maize and corn are the same plant. Corn is more of a selective breed, white people selected for commercial use. Maize is closer to the original, wild version. Most people would know any difference between the two.

The US population is growing a lot quicker than that, since we haven't completed the border wall yet. It's not just our southern border, democrats want to have open borders, so everyone one the planet can come, and get some of that 'free stuff'. You don't see many people migrate to Norway, do you? They all come here, to abuse are generous social programs, like medicare.

You know Harvey, learn English will you? It's "our" and not "are". Also, it's "everyone on" and not "everyone one". How can we have a discussion when I need to point out that you use English like an immigrant? Can't you take more pride in being an American?
