There are already hand-cranked generators for charging cellphones, with a built in flashlight as well. Lot of cranking, not sure how many hours it takes for a complete charge, but a lot of physical work. Not sure how a clockwork mechanism would improve it's efficiency. I'm pretty sure the self-winding feature in some watches, doesn't scale up sufficiently, to be useful for power generation, least not enough to charge a cell phone. Only self-winds when in motion, and a watch takes very little to keep time. As far as someone to build it for you, seems a little doubtful. I've never tried, but there is a thing call 'crowd-funding' Kickstarter.com might be an option. Not entirely sure how it works, but have seen it mentioned many times. There is GoFundMe.com as well. There are quite a few others, just the two that came to mind. You should Google for the actual links, since I may have misspelled, or missed a character or two. |
