I'm very ordinary, I go to work, come home and watch the news, get depressed at what I see going on around me and especially all the TALK about climate change. One thing that seems obvious to me is that by the time our politicians take action it will be too late. It strikes me that if we are being realistic about the rate of change were experiencing, we have to do a bit more than recycle our rubbish and eat less meat. I have an idea which if implemented would save literally millions of tons of Carbon, reduce air pollution markedly and save on other resources. Usually this would mean some radical action which would impact on commerce or cost a fortune or take years to implement. Believe it or not, there is virtually no downside, it would cost very little, take less than a year and have no negative impact on society and only a small impact on Business.
The change I propose isn't revolutionary, its probably just something you haven't thought about but like most changes it needs a kick start and that's reason I'm writing. I'm looking for some help, a few hours, days at the most, in your spare time. If you've read this far, you probably realise that I am not blessed with writing skills and so I could do with help from someone good at getting a point across on paper. Part of my plan would require setting up a fund raising page to pay for an advertisement and so help from someone with experience on this front would be great.

thanks for reading

Would you mind writing a short paragraph clarifying / specifying this change you are experiencing?

Would you mind writing another short paragraph explaining what recycling and red meat consumption have to do with the change, and rate thereof, described in the preceding paragraph?

If either of these paragraphs has anything to do with the global climate, please provide a quick but unambiguous definition of this global climate.

johnjeff wrote: I have an idea which if implemented would save literally millions of tons of Carbon, reduce air pollution markedly and save on other resources.

I'm good with gold and frankincense, but you can forget the myrrh next time.

I'm good with reducing air pollution and resource requirements, but why on earth would you want to save carbon? How about you just toss that one and focus on the others.

Climate Change is really about redistribution of wealth and political power. You'll have to get in a long line, if you hope to grab a little of that wealth for yourself. Politicians mostly talk-the-talk, for votes, but aren't going to do anything beyond symbolic, because they like their jobs, and don't want to be redistributed, along with their wealth. If any of those rich, and influential people selling climate change (socialism). actually cared, you see them going green, to the extreme, not flying around the world in private jets. Basically, the just use climate change, for free publicity.

Even us regular folks, get defensive, when someone starts up the carbon-tax talk. It's a bad thing all around, even if it only is targeting our wealthy employers. That putting our jobs at risk, raises, bonuses, benefits. We would also expect prices of products and services to increase, to offset the greater operating costs.

We are already past the point of stopping it, unless the moved the date again. Last I heard, is they can only hope to slow it down a little, buy some more time. Not sure how long, or why, guess they haven't figured it out yet, or doesn't matter.

I live in Florida, socialism scares me more than hurricanes.

The first thing you have to do is define 'climate change'. Meaningless buzzwords have no time frame.
johnjeff wrote:

Meat is part of a healthy diet. What do you have against cattle, pig, and chicken ranchers?

Carbon is saved. No significant amount of carbon has ever left Earth.

Define 'air pollution'.

Describe these 'resources'.

Putting a business OUT of business to satisfy a religion is a pretty significant impact.

An "argument" is a point that you are making (and supporting). It is your thesis statement. The comment means you are ranting without making a relevant point.

All this means is that you apparently got carried away in a particular train of thought and drifted away from your main point. Just review what you wrote and clarify, making sure to tie it to your main point.

Correct. A void argument is a fallacy and is not a valid argument.

Failing to present valid arguments when you post is just wasting your time.

It turns out that all of this Global Warming is baking the streets full of black ice and depositing solid water everywhere ... such that I get to work from home tomorrow.

I'm thinking that it must be Greenhouse Effect that is causing the temperature inside my house to be so much warmer than the temperature outside ... or it might be my central heating.

Rethinking my own explanation here and I believe I'm dead wrong.

If it's getting too warm in your home, it is likely a heat register proximity placement problem.

If the heat vents are too close to any glass or skylights, the greenhouse effect will re radiate heat, bouncing it off and back into the room, thereby raising the temperature higher than what it would "normally" be. A large modem is a positive feedback mechanism which creates even more digital climate forcings on the already stressed system.

That's wrong from the word go. Windows and skylights will be the greatest source of heat loss in a home. Do they have R-19 in the walls? If so then how will windows and skylights increase warming? They won't.
I know, you're talking about during the summer when people use their air conditioners. So you are right after all. When people use air conditioners, windows and skylights can because of the greenhouse effect warm their homes.
That is an excellent observation by you GasGuzzler. And it is one that doesn't require an education. You Americans are so smart. Gosh, if only I could be an American then I could be a fart smeller, oops, a smart feller like you

BTW GasGuzzler, my father can say that an American woman got him drunk and took advantage of him. Do you agree? ie., is that what your mother did? Is that what American women do or was my American mother a whore?
