The only special property, is that it's the only byproduct produced, that doesn't naturally occur in huge quantities. It's produced most from something most people a dependent on, energy and transportation. It's easy to tax, since people would rather give up the money, than do without electricity or transportation. How many of your CO2 heroes gave up their private jets, mega yachts, or generate their own electricity to power their homes? They certainly have the resources to set an example. It's all talk, free face time on TV, they don't actual care about anything beyond themselves. Even if they did want to give up their life of luxury, or clutter their estates with eye-sore solar panels and windmills, the could spend some of their wealth providing alternative energy to others, like local schools and businesses. They have the greatest resources to actually make a difference, but they only talk about, encourage others to go carbon free. They donate money to other similar people, who just talk about, but don't do anything themselves to go carbon free, just encourage others to give up carbon fuels, and try to get the government to mandate it for everyone else. They can still afford the carbon fuels for their personal toys. |

I didn't go into plants, again, been covered pretty well, many times. I drive a 2003 Ford Explorer, the P.O.S edition... I really have no need of an SUV, it's just the only decent running vehicle I could afford, in a pinch, thanks to Obama's Cash-4-Clunkers, used car destroying program. I prefer a small truck, or a sporty little car, but drive whatever I can find. This is actually my second Explorer. My first was 1990 Explorer, the rollover edition, which only needed a transmission. Got it free, well $1200 for the transmission. Not a huge Ford fan, by any means, but it's better than mass transit... |
