@All, the Gulf of Mexico is fed in part by the North Brazil which becomes the Gulf Stream. Since the Gulf Stream is slowing, that could increase the rainfall in America's Heartland (the Midwest).
A check of rainfall by year in a states like Iowa or Nebraska might show this. If it does, then a slowing Gulf Stream could be responsible. I'll see about making a spreadsheet and graphing the results. It will take at least a couple of days.
And I do think that this could be a part of a "it doesn't rain as much as it used too" or "it's raining more than it used too" natural cycle that needs to be understood.

p.s., Duncan did say that he's read about harvests have been better. This is where with West of the Mississippi River, it might go back to what helped the Dust Bowl to happen, poor land management.
