About five years ago I read a report that was coauthored by a group of astronomers who explained that their measurements of decreasing magnetic solar activity foreshadowed decreasing solar output. If we combine that with black body radiation science, we can put 2 and 2 together and conclude that the earth has been experiencing some global cooling over these last few years. Obviously it wasn't terribly noticeable and I wouldn't necessarily expect it to be. But that would mean that we should be able to verify decreased solar activity today, yes? Well guess what ... Soalr Minimum has Arrived The article has a little more hype for my liking but it's British so we have to roll with it. Oh, and for those who would like to see a rare example of how NASA got one right, this article might restore a glimmer of hope. I don't think i can [define it]. No shit. This winter in Ontario Canada is the coldest on record. Sure, the media claims it's been the hottest year on record every single year, but everyone with 2 brains cells to rub against knows that is an outright lie. It's mid March and not a single leave on the trees yet. Back in 2009 I was already doing yard work this time of the year. I think it'll be getting worse in about 10 years from now.
