About Our Client

Large, international environmental research company, supporting the Carbon Market as alternative source of energy.

Job Description

Responsible for the project's strategic direction and operational management.
Lead an engagement program that meets the goals of the project and supports company requirements.
Work closely with the existing project team, which consists of executive and senior level staff and company affiliates.
This position reports to the President of CDP North America.

The Successful Applicant

Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, and at least seven years of senior level professional experience in two or more of the following areas (or a closely related discipline): business management; sustainability; finance; climate change policy/regulation; carbon markets/mechanisms.
Demonstrated knowledge of issues and trends in carbon pricing; climate finance; low carbon investment; and climate change. A working knowledge of the technical aspects of these topics is essential but the successful candidate will also hold a strong understanding of the politico-economic considerations of these topics. Publication in respect of any of these topics would be favorably considered.
Demonstrated success in leading a project/program that achieved behaviour change at the firm level as well as sector-wide, industry-wide or macro-politico/economic impacts. Specifically, the successful candidate will have experience in
Developing successive year strategies in a collaborative process.
Developing and executing work plans with a high level of attention to detail.
Managing multiple work streams, including research and knowledge creation; stakeholder engagement; strategic collaboration; events and communications.
Delivering a stakeholder engagement program targeting private sector (business and investors), government and civil society audiences at the international level.
Identifying synergies between cross-cutting issues and/or strategic priorities.
Familiarity with scenarios processes.
Demonstrated success in operational management, achieved in a fast-paced and changing environment, with specific experience in
Building/leading a team of at least three people with a diverse skill set.
Working effectively with executive level colleagues and strategic partners to facilitate their support of project/program objectives.
Holding financial accountability at the project level, including responsibilities for budgeting, budget management, financial processes, and cost effectiveness.
Securing funding from a variety of sources and delivering against funding requirements and donor expectations.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills that promote cohesion and team work; creativity and entrepreneurship; timeliness and efficiency. In addition, the successful candidate will have
Ability to persuasively and simply communicate complex concepts to private sector (business and investors), government and civil society audiences in a variety of public and private settings.
Facilitation/consensus-building skills, and experience writing action-oriented briefings for senior decision makers.
Excellent oral and written English skills. A second language would be highly regarded.
