It's low quality image, that I didn't pick up at first, but the object he was filmed carrying looks like a container for the rifle. He sets it down, gets on his belly, lowers his feet over the edge, then grabs the container, and jumps down. It doesn't look like a backpack, more like a really thin long duffel bag.

Lots of YouTubers showing up on my feed are saying the text messages are fake.
But I woke up today feeling more so they are real.
They say nobody would confess so explicitly, but I say not so. Mrs. Robinson was confessing to somebody he loves. It is not surprising he would be so eloquent about it. He is trying to impress his lover who he believes he shares intimacy with.
Even more telling is his lover's response, who does not reciprocate. "They" start interrogating Mrs. Robinson like a pig would. Clearly "they" never saw him as anything more than a piece of meat.
Even worse, his parents, who one would think he had the best bet of receiving unconditional love from, turn him in. Surely they knew Utah is a death penalty state.
Therein lies the rub, Mrs. Robinson is a hopeless romantic who has never known True Love. This is the trigger causing him to act out.
