First they told us that microwaves hear food from the inside which was never true. Now we find out that microwaves and microwave plastic is lethal because heat can accelerate the breakdown of plastic, releasing microscopic particles and chemicals like BPA and phthalates.

The number of humans effected is every human who had a microwave in their home growing up.

So much for wanting to discuss microwaves.

I remember I started a thread here a few years ago called Plastic Blood. Turns out a lot of people are testing positive for plastic in their blood.

If memory serves, it wasn't every single person taking the blood test gave a positive reading for plastic blood, more like a significant minority.

I became skeptical that microwaving Tupperware, or the fumes from recycling milk jugs, etc., were plausible reasons people were testing positive for plastic blood. Those amounts would be so small, I doubt they would show up on any crude blood test.

Now hearing you say this affects every human, I'm inclined to believe it, even if the available tests only detect it for a minority.

So I start wondering if DJT would be able to tolerate V2K whatsoever, cuz he looks very plastic.

I get lots of dreams with the theme of chicks chasing me. Many variations. One time literally chickens kept attacking my son. That one was pretty disturbing.

Before we see the Soviet fleet and the US Naval fleet facing off during a blockade in the Gulf of MEXICO, we get some quick action from the beach at the "Bay of Pigs", Bahia de los Cochinos.

The mercenaries are being routed and one of the Americans among them is screaming "Where the **** is that air support they promised us?"

Okay, now the stakes are very high. The Soviets have secretly transported a bunch of ballistic nuclear missile to Cuba. The Americans have discovered it and the shit is hitting the fan.

According to US intelligence, in just a matter of weeks, maybe less, those missiles could be brought to operational status. There was only a brief window of time before it would be possible for the Soviets to launch a first strike from an island 90 miles off the coast of Florida.

They were wrong.

But they were confident that there was no way those missiles could become operational in a matter of days.

They were confident that they could eyeball it with the Soviet fleet in the Gulf of MEXICO, with no risk that those missiles nearby could be launched.

Sure, the Soviets had a lot of other missiles they could launch, but they were so far away it was a completely different equation. Plenty of warning time for that devastating retaliatory strike for the "mutual assured destruction" (MAD) that everyone relied on to keep the peace.

Kennedy thought is wasn't the ultimate high-risk gamble to go ahead and confront them right away.

He was wrong. By the time everybody's navies were in position, half of the missiles that the Soviets installed were ALREADY operational.

The Soviet fleet wasn't really up to snuff for the mission. Their best nuclear powered subs were in the shop for repairs. They would have to send some of those old diesel burners, armed only with "tactical" nukes. The little kind that just take out a few ships or maybe an entire fleet.

"Tactical" nukes weren't necessarily the tipping point for mutually assured destruction, were they?

So, it's getting hot and heavy up at the surface. Cubans have been shooting at US recon aircraft, and Americans have been firing "warning shots" over the tops of Soviet ships. The submarine commanders are nervously following the action.

One Soviet submarine is close to where those "warning shot" were fired by the US, and they think it's the real thing. They are a diesel burner with just the right kind of tactical nukes to take out those American ships.

Like the US, the Soviet subs couldn't launch these things unless two authorized officers simultaneously turned two different keys. And they were arguing. One was the military commander of the sub, and the other was the Party political officer. One of them sacrificed his career and more to prevent WWIII. They did not launch, and it didn't go all the way.

Those missiles in Cuba were ALREADY set to launch on demand. Fortunately, they all stayed on the ground, and eventually got hauled back to Russia. We pulled our nukes out of Turkey a bit later to reward their good behavior.

So why did everyone want to kill Kennedy after that?

From the Bay of Pigs on, Kennedy was just too much of a pussy for the deep state militarists who were hell bent on a "forever war" in Vietnam.

Kennedy knew that the stupid Bay of Pigs operation was failing, and he didn't even send in air support. Kennedy felt he had been conned by the guys who said we would be greeted with flowers as liberators kind of thing. It was supposed to be a walkover.

Maybe they really believed it would succeed as they promised. Or maybe they just assumed that once shit got started, Kennedy would HAVE to come in with air support, whether he liked it or not.

So, as much as Kennedy loved the cloak and dagger stuff enough to authorize Bay of Pigs in the first place, how it turned out created bad blood.

As much as Kennedy STILL loved the cloak and dagger AFTER Bay of Pigs, enough to authorize the continuing sabotage missions in Cuba etc., more bad blood was created when they didn't tell him they weren't pausing just because the Soviet fleet was ready to battle the US, perhaps over the slightest provocation.

The conspiracy theory goes that after this, the cabal of powerful elite deep state aliens in disguise or whatever they are... They decided to kill Kennedy.

They exerted long distance mind control over Lee Harvey Oswald who honestly believed it was his OWN IDEA to kill the president. And when their servants at the CIA overheard Oswald yelling about his plans at both the Cuban Consulate and Soviet Embassy (not the same building, in case you think they are all one) in Mexico City.. They took measures to ensure that nobody informed the Secret Service. And that included George Herbert Walker Bush who was secretly in charge of the CIA at the time.

Back to reality. The folks at the Cuban Consulate were astounded by the temper tantrum Oswald threw when they refused to grant him a visa. They were all talking about it. Word got all the way up to the boss. In the weeks before the assassination, Castro was specifically asking if anyone had gotten any follow up information about that crazy guy who came into their Consulate. Did they find out if he was really going to do it?

Only Donald Trump has the REAL documents and other evidence. Two members still remain for daily discussion of "climate debate" and other closely-related issues. Perhaps out of pure spite. You don't win at "King of the hill" unless you are the LAST one still on it.

Three and a half years ago, I began building my beaver dam in the hope of creating a different ecosystem than the one I encountered. Literally, only three of the most recently active 100 threads were about climate change or even close.

Initially, I wanted to set up a "library" of dozens of biogeochemistry essays. I was putting an explicit title on every post and creating six threads for them. The plan was to then invite environmental science students to come discuss them. In time for Earth Day, I hoped to have it ready for the big party.

I finally asked a few colleagues to take a peek and see if they thought it would be a good place to refer students to go to. A free website open to all for viewing, with very easy membership acquired for any who want to join in.

About the same time they all got back to me with the same message, IBdaMann had posted a Google map the the apartment where I live with my son, an aerial photo of the building where I live, my address, phone number, the names of my mother, my brother, my son...

My colleague all thought I was making a mistake. They found the discussion here to be repugnant. And I had to agree that it wasn't even "safe" to post here. Branner eventually got my message and deleted the dox posts. That didn't stop IBdaMann from doing it again.

But I went ahead with completing the beaver dam, hoping to create an improved ecosystem over what I found here. I accepted that it was a hostile environment for scientific discussion, but students could still learn by looking at the posts.

Possibly, it has finally come to fruition.

Not ONE of the many new viewers is actually joining as a member, so far. I hope it continues that way. Anything a new member might post would only serve as troll bait. ITN would swoop back in to tell them "Meaningless buzzwords! There is no such thing, dumbass!" GasGuz would tell them they are so stupid, they don't even know what "heat" is. IBdaMann would inform them that every one of them is a "scientifically illiterate moron", and look up anything he can to "dox" them. If the new member mentions that they have an advanced degree in the subject, with widely cited publications, they will simply be told that none of that is relevant and only serves as proof of being brainwashed.

Hallucinations in the District of New Jersey
Is it an abuse of judicial power for a judge to issue an opinion with AI hallucinations?

Eugene blogged about Judge Julien Xavier Neals of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Judge Neals issued an opinion that included errors, including made-up quotes and incorrect case outcomes. One of the parties submitted a letter pointing out these errors. It seems pretty clear that the Judge, or at least someone in his chambers, used generative AI to create the opinion. (Judge Neals is sixty years old, so I would suspect a law clerk made this error.) The judge promptly withdrew the opinion.

I suppose this particular case is settled, but I would wager there are more orders on Judge Neals' dockets that have hallucinations. Indeed, I suspect there are many judges throughout the country that have issued opinions with hallucinations. Savvy litigators should start combing through all adverse orders, and try to determine if there are obvious indicia of hallucinations. This will make excellent grounds for reversal on appeal.

LOL and as far as JFK goes, just remember that the Don still has all the real JFK files that Congress ordered him to declassify during his first term. Meaning that anyone or everyone can have them. Is it an abuse of judicial power for a judge to issue an opinion with AI hallucinations?

Eugene blogged about Judge Julien Xavier Neals of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Judge Neals issued an opinion that included errors, including made-up quotes and incorrect case outcomes. One of the parties submitted a letter pointing out these errors. It seems pretty clear that the Judge, or at least someone in his chambers, used generative AI to create the opinion. (Judge Neals is sixty years old, so I would suspect a law clerk made this error.) The judge promptly withdrew the opinion.

I suppose this particular case is settled, but I would wager there are more orders on Judge Neals' dockets that have hallucinations. Indeed, I suspect there are many judges throughout the country that have issued opinions with hallucinations. Savvy litigators should start combing through all adverse orders, and try to determine if there are obvious indicia of hallucinations. This will make excellent grounds for reversal on appeal.

LOL and as far as JFK goes, just remember that the Don still has all the real JFK files that Congress ordered him to declassify during his first term. Meaning that anyone or everyone can have them. You know the ones that Pompeo begged the Don not to release and the ones that Bidens FBI turds did not find on the micro sd card in Trump's home

Now at 6646 views! This thread gets disproportionately more attention than other old threads that got buried months ago. Somebody takes the extra step on the home page to click "View older threads (all forums)", above the blue box at the bottom of the page.

Clearly, it is not indiscriminate addition of "views", as other old threads picked up far fewer during the same time period. It doesn't HAVE to be human. Could be bots, and the thread title included key words of interest to their program. SOMETHING changed at this website where threads get more than ten times as many "views" than they did in years past.

AI certainly played a role in this website's evolution, as it was a Google-dependent ecosystem for years. Google searches supplied the fresh prey for trolls to ambush unsuspecting tree huggers who joined in the belief that it had something to do with discussing the environment. Since Google's AI stopped showing this website for such searches a couple of years ago, virtually no new members have joined the discussion.

AI may also be involved in the exponential increase in "views" that began this summer. Threads on this website never used to get so much attention. But I like the idea that it is more than that.
