The cyclic nature of global warming

The cyclic nature of global warming26-08-2024 22:11

Those that believe that climate can change (aka the Church of Global Warming) has a cyclic nature about it that I've noticed.

It tends to peak during the solstice (either winter or summer), and tends to slack during the equinox.

At equinox, temperatures aren't particularly extreme in either hemisphere. It's kind of hard to point to temperature extremes of some particular area during that time.

But at solstice (and the month or so after), temperatures tend to be the peak of the year (either hot or cold). These are easy examples to point at as 'world temperature', and that the world is going to hell in a hand basket.

This shows up quite dramatically on Climate Debate, but also occurs on other forums as well. This is when the Church of Global Warming tends to show up and push it's beliefs.

Memory in many is about a week long (the length of a news cycle), and I suppose most haven't noticed this pattern in forums as I have. There is also, of course, the distraction of an election year in the United States.

The Church of Global Warming, while it still exists, has believers in other religions as well, including the Church of Green, the Church of the Ozone Hole, the Church of Covid, the Church of Hate (particularly active right now!), and of course, the Church of Karl Marx (also particularly active right now!).

This means the number that show up here and bring up global warming on other forums is becoming less and less with each passing year, but I don't think it will ever be zero.

So...as they say...it's only a matter of time before the Church of Global Warming shows up again on Climate Debate. It's just as inevitable as an unloved season.

Is this confusion called "conflating climate with weather"?

Anyway, we'll always have Robert. He would never leave us. After all, his library is here.

At the website "climate-deny.com" there is a member known as "Into the Darkness".

Into the Darkness claims to be an attorney.

Another member challenged the validity of the claim.

IdaBM: Do you really expect anyone to believe that you are an attorney?

Into the Darkness: Yes. I am an attorney.

IdaBM: Do you practice law somewhere?

Into the Darkness: Law is not a practice.

IdaBM: Did you pass the bar exam somewhere?

Into the Darkness: Law is not an exam.

IdaBM: Did you get a JD law degree somewhere?

Into the Darkness: Law is not a degree.

IdaBM: Did you ever study at a law school somewhere?

Into the Darkness: Law is not a school.

IdaBM: Do you expect everyone to believe you are really an attorney?

Into the Darkness: You do not speak for everyone.

IdaBM: Who ELSE is an attorney who would characterize you as an attorney?

Into the Darkness: I speak only for myself.

IdaBM: The US Attorney General? Federal Judges looking at January 6 cases?
Prosecutors looking into fraud, stolen documents, incitement of insurrection..?

Into the Darkness: They are not really attorneys. They are disciples of the Church of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

IdaBM: Okay, NOW you sound like a real attorney.

No such website, and no such user.

I see you're still hallucinating. Robert.

No. The confused, which tend to appear here and create 'climate change' threads on other sites is cyclic.

Climate change.

People believe their own lying eyes.

You can't wish that away.

You CAN drive it away from any hope of rational discussion on a website.

1713 members, eh?

These two guys drove them all away.

The global climate hasn't changed one iota during my lifetime.

Im a BM wrote: People believe their own lying eyes.

Every day of my life I examined the global climate for changes, no matter how minute, and there just haven't been any.

You can only wish there had been.

Unfortunately no one has any hope of rational discussion on a website where absolutely no proponent of the faith will unambiguously define his terms. Not a single one, ever. Of course, every single one will blame any and all people who happen to have questions for their complete inability to articulate even a basic point about their beliefs that don't violate physics right out of the starting gate.

Talk about a religion that requires one to be a scientifically illiterate moron, Global Warming and Climate Change are dogmatic on that point. One simply cannot continue in the good graces of that church while still clinging to any vestiges of science, and math is heavily frowned upon as well.

Rational discussions begin with definition of terms. You have yet to define climate change. The issue is your, as is the floor.

You've been about as quiet lately as the Atlantic hurricane season. We miss you, as well as our hurricanes. Please return to your audience!

Not possible to drive away what is not possible.

Climate cannot change. That's why he can't define it.

He's been here for some months, and has yet to define anything. He prefers nonsense buzzwords to 'sound scientific' and to claim that something that has no temperature or any other value can somehow 'change'.

Too late. He already did!

Oh...and Hawaii just got hit by a cyclone (a hurricane). Kinda made a mess of the place, and some sailboat about 1000 miles east of Hawaii had to be rescued by the Coast Guard because of extensive damage during the storm. Two survived, but the captain didn't.
