Would you EVER consider trying again with allowing a member to moderate some kind of sub forum? If I had my own little biogeochemistry corner where I am allowed to keep out the riff raff, I think you would suddenly see a whole lot of new members join. There is no way they would join today. I have invited enough actual scientists to look at this website to know what the reaction is. Anything they post today would immediately get buried in parrot poop or some other form of troll manure. Nobody will intervene to stop inappropriate personal attacks. Nobody would be there to remove the posts when some troll attempts to dox them, and that is self evident. There are still old posts of IBdaMann to be found where he posts a Google map and aerial photos of where he suspects a rival member lives.
