Another successful launch today, and I could help but think it ironic that a greener car maker, is also launching a CO2 producing rocket. Not sure how much CO2 is produced, but they hope to launch often. The Falcon Heavy uses kerosene as fuel, least in the boosters, which would be that burns inside the atmosphere. Not sure if I really understand the logic, we are encourage to stop driving gas cars, buy electric, to save the planet. But, buying electric, helps to fund large rocket launches, that burn the bad fuel, that destroys the planet. What's the point in going electric, if somebody else is going to burn the gas anyway? It seems like they should be giving away the electric cars, to offset the CO2 they release every launch. Wonder if they'd give me a car for suggesting it. I mean, wouldn't be great PR, if Musk gave away the number of Tesla's it would take to offset each launch. Show's the care, and doing their part, plus it get's those cars out on the road, and happy customers (it was free). Can't buy advertising like that, and more effective than paid ads. |

Electric cars still put out CO2. Remember that power plant you are plugging into for most cases? Electric trains still put out CO2. They need power plants too. There is nothing wrong with CO2 in the atmosphere. Edited on 12-04-2019 19:56 |
