As I already told you the moon rotates around the Earth every 27.3 days, I am not sure why you deny this.

There is a reason that you teach here and not at a University

Swan, you lose on this one. You should look up "barycenter."

Whenever you have two bodies, both masses contribute to the gravity between them and they both affect each other. Just because the moon's revolution around the barycenter involves far more movement than the earth's revolution around the barycenter, the earth is nonetheless moving around the barycenter.

I realize that you aren't very good at math, but the moon is only one body. The topic of discussion is two bodies revolving around a barycenter.

Two ... not one. The moon is only one.

Swan wrote:2. Rotates around the Earth

Nope. I realize that you totally suck at English, to the extent that you don't understand how amphibious things are amphibians, so you get a pass here, I suppose.

The moon and the earth revolve around the barycenter.

The concept differs not from the Olympic hammer throw. Both the thrower and the hammer revolve around the barycenter which is a few inches out from the throwers chest.

Swan wrote: 3. Rotates around the Sun

The planets and the sun all revolve around a barycenter.

Swan wrote: 4. Rotates around the Galaxy

Probably (but revolves), but we're speculating.

Swan wrote:5. Moves in line with the Galaxy

Whatever that means, but you are probably incorrect. Our galaxy is probably orbiting (revolving around) the barycenter of some other cluster of solar systems or huge black hole or something.

I apologize for my 18-volt DEWALT "mind" boring holes through your delusion.

LOL can you explain in detail how the milky way galaxy rotates around "some other cluster of solar systems" and how these magical in your mind solar systems have the mass to lock a galaxy into an orbit?

You may not realize what your words mean due to your English language deficiencies and shortcomings, but nonetheless, that is what you said, and yes, it's a very stupid thing to say.

Again, I would recommend you look up the words "rotate" and "revolve" and note the difference.

Exactly ... these statements require the earth, the sun and the galaxy to be the center of rotation for the moon. It's what the words mean.

Did you mean "revolve"?

Question: Do you know why a six-gun is called a "revolver" and not a "rotator"?
Answer: The bullets revolve around the axis of the drum, they don't rotate around it.

Don't be afraid to come to me with the tough stuff ... even if it's easy tough stuff.

1. The Moon is locked into Earth orbit, 2,300MPH
2. The Earth and Moon are locked into the Sun's orbit, 67,000MPH
3. The Sun, Earth and Moon are locked into the Galactic cores orbit, 500,000 MPH

5. All this motion has your neurons even more frustrated than normal.

So which is it guys, does the moon have zero angular momentum or would it be enough to run 1,000,000,000 horsepower for a period of 1,323 years. Do not you think there is big difference between those energy levels or do you still think it is just a spatial comprehension problem? Are you guys still trying to create energy out of nothing?
Imagine the probability for rotational and orbiting period to be exactly the same for moon anno domini 2022 given the moon has drifted away from earth 3.8cm/per year for millions of years. Guess what, other sattelites are orbiting the same way as moon as well. Imagine the probability of this kind on coincidence!!! Going to the casino and taking out jackpot is like taking a candy from the kid compared to this kind on coincidences.

I think that you have a spatial comprehension problem.

The moons momentum is created by the Earth not the Moon, no matter what your Mom says

Nope. The Earth does not create any momentum for anything.

Actually the Moons momentum is created by the Earths gravitational field, but you know that and are just trying to frustrate yourself.

Nope. You cannot create energy out of nothing.

Gravity most certainly creates momentum, every third grader knows this.

You don't get to speak for every third grader. Omniscience fallacy.
Gravity does not create momentum either. You can't create energy out of nothing.

Actually I am retired so I get to do whatever I choose.

LOL you know full well that gravity holds everything down,

I'm still waiting for the explanation. Are you saying that velocity is gravity?

Please explain such that your statements make sense. Take your meds first if necessary.

When an object falls toward Earth it's velocity and momentum are both caused by gravity.

But you knew that.

My Motto is, what is this work thing?

Actually the velocity and momentum result from converting potential energy which is a question of position ... but stay focused ...

The question before you pertains to your comment above asserting that the earth's gravity is a result of the earth's velocity.

Please explain this.

Look it up at 4.45. According to relativity theory and Einstein, there is no such thing as gravity. It is a curved space time, which locks earth to the sun and moon to the earth etc etc

No, no, no, .....

It is your turn to explain this:

Your explanation is what comes next. The floor is yours.

Now you are being dishonest, and this is not the first time.

You are asking many questions that have been answered and you are refusing to acknowledge that you fully understand the correct answer by ignoring your responsibility to explain this:

It's your turn to explain, not to ask questions.

Explain. The floor is yours.

This is not an answer - " hey, this is just a spatial problem, look, it obviously rotates".

Wrong explanation. This will be the third time I am posting this. You are intentionally EVADING.

Explain how the mon is not rotating. Don't pretend to state that the moon cannot do what this graphic demonstrates is obviously happening. You have to explain how this obvious rotation is somehow not rotation.

That is what you need to explain. Stay focused on the graphic.

The floor is yours.

Look it up at 4.45. According to relativity theory and Einstein, there is no such thing as gravity.

We have two problems here.

1. You are claiming that a YouTube video is the Theory of General Relativity. It is not. Why haven't you looked at the actual science? Is the reason because you know that it has gravity in there, and that would be terribly counterproductive to your denial of science?

Einstein simply added a correction term to Newton's law. Newton's model applies within the same intertial frame of reference while Einstein's model is inter-inertial-frame-of-reference.

Notice the letter "G". It stands for "Gravity."

2. You still haven't explained how a rotating moon is somehow not rotating. You are supposed to be explaining this:

It's about time for you to start explaining. The floor is yours:

When an object falls toward Earth it's velocity and momentum are both caused by gravity. That said without gravity condensing gasses and particles the Earth would have no spin because there would be no Earth.

I think we are losing focus. This is the statement you made that needs clarification. If the earth were stationary, how would I "fall off"?

Follow-on question: In which direction would I "fall"?
