Well we already covered that a couple of days ago for parts of North America the same principle applies ...

Click on Earth, to open the menu.
You should see Height 250 and Overlay Wind selected - this is the jetstream on 15th April.
Switch to Height - Surface and Overlay - Temperature.
There you go, there's your cold snap.

It's also useful for tracking wildfires, switch on particulates play with the Overlay settings and you can see where all the hotspots are.

Anyone that knows the position of the jet stream, the winds, the particulates, the temperatures is constantly changing.

These graphics are pretty, but they are also static. Earth doesn't behave like that.
