It is easy to fool the population into believing in Climate change when people, especially in the Cities and Towns are so far removed from nature. The people who have kept a close eye on the weather and lived with extreme weather events their whole lives are ridiculed and derided because they don't believe in global warming/climate change. They have experienced weather changes on a daily basis in all it's extremes and do not see any difference in the weather behavior. These people have more experience in this than the scientists, academics and politicians but are ignored in favor of popular theories. EXTREME NATURAL WEATHER EVENTS are not proof of Climate change. They have happened before and will happen again. There is no evidence at all that links weather and pollution. Theories and speculation are not proof of global warming. The variables are infinite so impossible to predict. It has always seemed strange to me that only 10% of all pollutants is credited with the cause of global warming yet it is the part of the pollution that feeds all plant life. The Power Stations are not as bad as people have made out. I live and work near one and can tell you the vegetation loves it and the native animals and birds are plentiful and healthy. There is more visible impact from the nearby freeway than the power stations. Maybe people are looking in the wrong place for our deadliest pollutants. There is far more pollution in the city than from the power stations. Let's cut the emissions from there. |

Very good points being made here... For starters, these people can't even define their terms ("global warming, "climate change") without doing so in a circular manner, rendering their buzzword based arguments null and void right from the get go... Then they deny various laws of science trying to explain away how colder gases can somehow heat a warmer surface... Yet, WE are the "science-deniers"... These people regularly make use of inversion tactics such as that one, attempting to shift their own faults onto others... The Church of Global Warming, The Church of Green, and The Church of Karl Marx are all very sick and twisted religions driven by Satanic compulsion... |

Still interested in how things are progressing in France. The government back down on the carbon tax hike, for six months. I'm not sure if the french people are dumb enough to buy that stall tactic, means the government still plans on the carbon tax hike, just needs time to deal with the reluctance. I'd imagine we will do some protesting, rioting, and considerable looting, if/when our government tries to pull something like that here. During the Obama years, there was a lot of 'Black Lives Matter' riots, and looting, yet surprisingly few were ever prosecuted, even with all the YouTube and FaceBook videos. Never implied that I thought Trump was a saint, as most of the filthy rich aren't. Most lawyers and politicians are as bad, mostly worse, as the practice deception, professionally. I like a lot of Trumps idea, and believe he sincerely hopes to get some of them done, which would helps get out out the hole that's been getting dug, for a long time. Beauty Pageant Pervert? He'd been involved in hundreds of these, not to mention backstage access to many other shows. Busy place, and just one example of perversion? Doesn't really set a pattern, should have been hundreds of people rushing forward during his campaign, with stories to tell. Seems more like a lot of media hype, spin it anyway you want. Trump's taxes? Yeah, there are a lot slippery tricks accountants and lawyers use, to reduce or eliminate the obligations of their clients, and get paid very well. Looks outrageous in the news, but fairly common practice, and barely legal. He probably has never done his own accounting or legal work, just signed as advised. The Clinton team is much worse, both lawyers, and dozens of shady dealings, scandals, and lack of ethics. You really think Hillary would have been a better choice? More free stuff, only means more debt, and that was the bulk of her campaign promises. Putin's friend? Really, doesn't seem like they talk much. With all the White House leakers, seems like some communications would have been leaked by now. Russia is a world power, they should be talking, think that is the main reason for the investigation, to keep them from talking, likely some interesting things to come out. Got a hunch Russia could really use some American products, which would be very good for our economy. But, Russia is the enemy, the worst people on earth, and there are bans, sanctions and all kinds of things blocking us from selling to them, even food products. I don't know much about Russia, but doubtful they are as bad as the propaganda, different culture, different values and beliefs I live in poverty? Subjective observation, I suppose, depends on where you are sitting, or maybe a subtle insult. But, I've had the same job for over 27 years. My house is paid off, 12 years ago. I have zero debt, no loans, no credit cards. All that I have, is paid for, even my Ford Explorer POS edition. Sure, I don't have a house full of shiny new things. The house is no mansion, not even particularly nice, but I own it. Had my appendix removed back in August, had more than enough to pay the medical bills as they came, still have a comfortable balance in my checking account. Poverty? Not from my perspective, no struggle to survive, and have the option to upgrade my lifestyle. I prefer to live within my means, and not trying to impress or be popular, relatively stress-free living. Higher taxes, increased cost of living, and all of the stuff associate with the 'Climate Change' BS, having to pick up the tab, for other people's 'free-stuff', bothers me, since it could have a stressful impact on my chosen lifestyle. Since I earn more than I need to pay my bills, I'm definitely not living in poverty. |

Over use is only part of the problem. We get plenty of rain every year, but not much of it gets to seep into the ground, we pave over a lot of it. We direct a good portion in to a storm drainage system, which directs most of that fresh water, blessed from the heavens, into rivers, streams, canals, and eventually the ocean. Civilized people don't like floods or standing water, so the dispose of it. The drainage system doesn't just kick in, when there is property damaging floods, it's every time it rains. Seems sort of odd, that we have no problems with oil pipelines, usually paid in part by tax money, so oil companies can transport cheaply, but we don't pipe storm water to places it's needed. Now, it's true, that once the rain hits the pavement, it's far from fresh, or even safe to drink, lot of automotive fluids get mixed real quick. Beneficial things, need to enrich someone, or they aren't worth doing. There must be a lot of friends of the oil companies in government, since they had to grab a lot of land, destroy the only know habitat of... well, there is always some little plant or critter, that gets wiped out, for these sorts of projects. |

They run up the rivers to spawn. We had them in Oregon, think run was in the early spring, snow on the ground. You use a net on a long pole, and dip them out of the river, think there was something like 5 lbs limit/person. So, of course, my dad use to drag us out there, always after dark, and we stay until we had our 30 lbs. Ours were more like 6 inches long... Anyway, even though we had school the next day, when we got home with our catch, we got to spend a couple hours cleaning them, bagging them up for the freezer. They aren't a particularly tasty fish either, no matter how you cook them. Smoker helped, but not much... Can't imagine those thing being endanger, or anybody really care that much. Pretty much why I dislike the treebuggers, they always seem to find some plant, or little critter, that can't survive anywhere else. I do care about the environment, and ecosystem, but not the terror tactics. I seriously doubt you could kill off all the smelt, even if you really tried. |

Actually, the plant or critter CAN survive elsewhere, and does. Let's say a rattlesnake manages to get across the Cascades to survive long enough to breed a few snakes. Now you have the 'Coastal' rattler, and the 'Eastern Cascade' rattler. It's the same snake, but there are lot fewer of them on the wet side. So the 'Coastal' rattlesnake is suddenly a protected and endangered species. Remember the spotted owl scam? The owls were 'endangered' because of the lack of old growth forests. Trouble is, the owl doesn't live there. It lives in younger forests, where it's food supply is. Old growth forests are essentially dead as far as the owl's food supply (mice). How many ranch rights were lost over that? What did the ranchers do? They SHOT and buried the owls found on their property before some twit from the government found them. Who loses out of the attempt to protect the owl besides the ranchers? The owl! Fortunately, there are a LOT of spotted owls. They never were in danger. As many deniers like to state, using raw data would not account for effects like the Urban Heat Island effect or El Nino's and La Nina's (though the latter can and does show up even when the data is modified) as well as basic noise from normal, natural changes in yearly weather patterns. This is why climatologists use anomalous temperature events rather than actual temperatures, as they've proven to be more accurate at showing trends." |
