God, I used to hate Liz Cheney.

And don't even get me started about Cheney the Dick, her father.

They were SO WRONG about so many important policies.

I have tremendous respect for Liz Cheney now.

I hope she never gets back into a position of influencing policy.

But thank God she has done as much as she has to protect our democracy.

I grew up in ultra activist political family. My dad would have been a delegate at the 1968 convention if Eugene McCarthy had not narrowly lost the California primary to RFK, just before he was assassinated.

I HATED Governor Reagan and President Nixon. Later I hated President Reagan.

The Bush dynasty (with intermission) took us from bad to worse

So, I felt some genuine antipathy, in addition to policy disagreement, for decades and decades.

But Trump brought in something new. Democrats want to DESTROY you he says. The free press is the ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE. The vermin enemy within that must be met with aggressive force...

None of the past Republicans ever took it that quantum leap to a whole different level before. Or the ones that tried got nowhere until now.

Liz taught me that it matters little how much I disagreed with the R's on policy.

Basic respect for the Constitution and ensuring that we will be able to continue to disagree about policy in the future in a functioning democracy matters more.

The United States was never a democracy.

...and very refreshing.

He's right.

The Democrat controlled media is not the free press, Robert.

You are describing what Democrats preach.

I guess you forgot Reagan.

Democracies have no constitution. DON'T TRY TO HIDE BEHIND THE CONSTITUTION YOU DESPISE!

As is the case in Argentina and Chile.

This is all the more reason Climate-Debate is so messed up.

Did you hear about my made up shit about Columbus?

I just MADE IT UP! Next thing you know, it's all over the news.

I would not be intellectually honest if I didn't admit that I simply made it up.

It took me a while to understand the message.

"This is all the more reason Climate-Debate is so messed up"

There are ZERO posting participants from the (island/website)'s original population.

Less than nine years after the Conquistadores arrived to "discover" the island that is climate-debate.com, not ONE of the original members still remains.

For some reason, new members have not replaced them. Or at least, the new members who have joined since the Conquistadors arrived do not participate much. Or at all. Everyone else was driven away. Perhaps with three or four exceptions, no new member who joined in the last nine years is still here.

At least there is no risk of overpopulation.
