It will remain a part of where we have all come from as the US in spite of your efforts. This is the Constitution of the Confederate States; March 11, 1861link
"[The Congress shall not pass any]... law denying or impairing the right of property in negro slaves shall be passed."

Or here, Georgia's former governor said of the Confederacy "[I]ts foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests upon the great truth, that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery—subordination to the superior race—is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth."link

Can you believe there are statues of that guy? There are! In his own state park in Georgia! Wow " A H Stephens State Park. "

Now I know I know you'll want me to define "negro" for you. I'm going to pass on the homework assignment. You figure out how to justify your own claims.

The eye witness testimony from the 3rd man present from the watch is that Travis McMichael, after he had shot the unarmed man dead, said "f---ing n-word".link

Do you know one of the most stupid things I ever read was? African-Americans at Berea College in Berea, Ky. complained that there was no store that catered to African-Americans. An example would be hair products. No WHITE person opened a store to make money serving African-Americans.
My question is, since African-Americans get African-Americans, why didn't an African-American student or their family do one like how Avon sold cosmetics?
And if you watch the movie Self Made about an African-American woman who became the first African-American woman to become a millionaire, it seems that even the African-American community has it's ways.
So how would you say that 2 different cultures should interact? Myself, I happen to like Star Trek. Do you like Romulans or Cardassians? How about Ferengi? The Ferengi only care about profit.
And with me tmiddles, many groups dislike me because as a disabled Veteran I am willing to work to change my situation. But my fellow Americans say we shouldn't have to work for something because all we need to know is how good we are. I'm no fun at parties.

tgoebbles wrote: Can you believe there are statues of that guy?

We've had this discussion. Yes, we should expect there to be statues and works of art dedicated to leaders. As times change, statues need to be moved to museums.

BLM, on the other hand, wants to destroy history because they are terrorist dumbfukks. They are vandals, looters, lynchers and they should be sniped the moment they put anyone in danger. There are statues of Hitler that we should definitely preserve in museums to remember our history.

BLM is like the Taliban, i.e. immature, hateful, spiteful, lawless, etc.. This world used to have great statues of Buddah that the Taliban destroyed the moment they had the opportunity.

When is BLM planning on flying some aircraft into buildings?

tgoebbles wrote: Now I know I know you'll want me to define "negro" for you.

Correct. Is there a reason you don't define your terms. I'm still waiting for a valid definition of Climate Change, Global Warming and of Greenhouse Effect and the only definition you gave for Global Warming doesn't involve all of the earth but an undefined portion thereof, and the only definition you offered for Greenhouse Effect was based on the subjunctive and was immediately dismissed.

Now you are throwing around terms like "black people," "white people," "colored people" and "negro" and you REFUSE to define them ... and strangely you claim that I am somehow "denying" that which you REFUSE to define, i.e. you are somehow blaming me for your utter confusion.

Over the course of almost a full year, tgoebbles has identified (generated, actually) the following key questions that really need to be answered:

Here is the list of the outstanding questions:

1) Is Global Warming unambiguously defined? If so then how?
2) Is Climate Change unambiguously defined? If so then how?
3) Is Greenhouse Effect unambiguously defined? If so then how?
4) Why should any rational adult believe in Global Warming?
5) Why should any rational adult believe in Climate Change?
6) Why should any rational adult believe in Greenhouse Effect?
7) How can I unambiguously demonstrate to my children thermal energy flowing from cooler to warmer?
8) How can I know the temperature of a large, unspecified volume, e.g. Denver, to within, say, 10degF with only one temperature measurement, e.g. the Denver airport?
9) What is the unambiguous definition of "black people"?
10) What is the unambiguous definition of "white people"?
11) What is the unambiguous definition of "negro"?
12) What is the unambiguous definition of "race"?
- 12a) Is there an official list of races? How do I determine my own/that of my children?
13) Why should any rational adult believe that there is a problem of racism in the United States?
14) Why should law abiding citizens be rendered defenseless before rampant violent crime?
15) Where in the 1st Amendment is "hate" prohibited such that, if shown, a prosecutor can throw someone in jail for having had that emotion/thought?

Would you like me to post these questions in a separate thread?

OK! Sure, I can do that.

Done!

gfm7175,
You guys are missing something here. And I understand that Americans are really American'ts. Just an outsiders perspective.
Your friend in Denver has been on about the coronavirus, right amigo? Comme sta? When a person has a heart condition and Covid 19 / coronavirus, is there anything to be concerned about?
An example is, can an African-American like George Floyd have coronavirus and a heart problem? This at the same time? I know white people do. I mean Americans.
I'm Nordic and such viruses don't infect me. Am being serious. This also gives me a 4 times greater chance of cancer.
Why I mention this is that some people (medical examiners) claim that George Floyd had both cornavirus and and underlying condition which was a problem with his heart.
Is it possible that what actually caused his death was coronavirus?
With me, I usually post online "manslaughter" because police officers are not doctors. And when an individual in custody implies that they have a medical condition that the officer cannot diagnose, then immediate medical attention should be sought.
This did not happen with George Floyd which is why there is a problem. If he would've been transported to a hospital and have died because of medical issues, then this would be a none story. But that didn't happen.
And this is where saying Mr. Floyd was murdered could create more problems. No one is saying he should've been transported to the hospital. It's well known that when someone is choked that there is bruising on their neck and the hyoid bone usually breaks. If neither feature associated with strangulation can be shown then most likely coronavirus and an underlying medical condition were the cause of death.
I just don't know how you guys missed this. Don't the facts matter?

Are you aware that race relations became worse under a "black" president?

It isn't the statue that immortalizes him but what history has recorded of him. The statue stands as a testament to his prominence at the time which affords historians valuable information.

The people should decide when a statue's time for display in a public place has ended and should be moved to a museum.

A statue IS prominence in any time in which it towers over people. It is a huge honor and makes the statement that the person is to be revered. It doesn't make that in the past it makes that the day you see the statue standing over you.

I have answered you many times now. I don't have a personal definition for "black people", "black man", "black woman", "colored people" or any of the other terminology. I simply recognize that those labels are used by others and I'm aware that definitions, by other people, vary. You are asking for an unambiguous definition for words used by people in a variety of ways and for a variety of reasons. Good luck. You'll need to figure that out on your own.

I know the Mr. McMichael defined Mr. Arbery as a "black man" because, after shooting him in the street, he used the N-word racial epithet I am aware is associated with that definition. I don't have my own definition for either term.

I will not have another answer for you but I'm happy to answer you again if you'd like to repeat yourself.

This might have more to do with how people perceive economic opportunity.
In the US, the reality seems to be that the top 1/3 income earners are separated from everyone else.
With me, in school I wasn't considered smart. If I had an American accent I might have been a straight A student. Unfortunately a Norwegian accent in an American school spells S-T-U-P-I-D.
This is where I usually refer to Star Trek. One show I like watching but I hate it at the same time as Sue Thomas, FB Eye (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0329934/). She is considered deaf and despite working for the FBI is a nobody. She has no life.
As a disabled Veteran and having a significant service connected hearing loss, I'm not a nice person. Ask my son.
What Star Trek shows is that communities need to develop value within themselves or they'll only be servants. And between sociology and economics, I doubt that will change.

Negros till this day can not build a modern civilization on their own. On overall they are yet not as civilized as whites and that is the problem that causes a lot of racism. We do not have a lot of blacks here but I see other countries that have imported them and I see the trouble they bring with themselves. They rape , murder, beat up people to steal etc etc. I do not want to live side by side with blacks because of it. They are physically much stronger than whites and therefore I would have to buy a gun to protect myself.

And yet President Trump is better than you because none of his children are 100% Americans. I will be voting for President Trump because he knows that Americans are inferior. Just ask his wives and their children who are not American.

He is your president. And all of his children are like me, only 50% American unless you count Native Americans. Powhatans don't count because they don't exist. Just a friendly reminder of Jamestown from James 2:26.

And with me, I simply love this. I am James and yet my town was killed off when my people allowed for it. Simply love it.

And if you guys can't insult me over this, I'm not sure I could respect you. The Powhatans have as much right as anyone else to be ridiculed. To say you can't is to say they don't matter. That is the worst insult of all. Yep, I had to go there. If you can't insult a people, that's only because they don't matter.

Our Indigenous Aborigional people are the same. The only culture in the world to never invent the wheel. Now they hang around the city being loud, drunk and obnoxious. There is the occasional mob Assault but mostly they are just embarrassing and annoying. There are special people that feel they have been hurt and need help but I bet they do not wish to have them as neighbors.I have spent a good deal of my life doing plumbing on remote communities and lived in their world but I am racist as all hell. They are all individuals and there is a lot of racism with in their own groups

You didn't get much of a reaction. I'm trying to channel my "inner" Billy Jack here.
I'm getting nothing. Maybe if we "defined" who was oppressed? Can we pick a sport and ask who is the "greatest"?
That might help to understand who is oppressed. Maybe someone can make a list from tv commercials?
Oh, I know, we can start with Cassius Clay. Then LeBron James, Tiger Woods and Venus Williams. And they are the best because they are all Americans.
Now if someone isn't an American, it seems that Americans are the best.

At the same time, Rome fell because of strife within. It creates conflict when accusing someone of murder when they died from medical problems. How do we improve race relations when the actual cause of death doesn't matter?
If you really support change, then you'd want the former officer tried for manslaughter because he did not seek medical care for George Floyd.
Many people died from having both coronavirus and an underlying health condition. And if you look at the number of deaths that the 3rd Reich in Germany caused, over 30 million. That's a very significant number. And yet today they are a part of both NATO and the EU.
