Fox news had a stanford doctor on tv tonight. He announced that a french infectious disease specialist had tried out chloroquine on corona virus patients and had 100% success across 40 patients. Chloroquine is already approved by the FDA for certain types of malaria.
If this is a legitimate story this will help with the pandemic as long as people don't get overconfident.

Hydroxychloroquine is the correct name of the drug for covid rather than chloroquine.

That sounds fantastic!

Based on the history of disease a complete fix is not unrealistic. Many deadly diseases have been totally stopped.

Hooray for science!

I was pretty excited to hear it too but i'm not holding my breath.
One thing that makes me think twice is that now i hear that there were only 24 patients instead of 40. The inaccuracy worries me, not the actual number. The stanford doctor that was telling the story seemed to be a little off his game. The chinese have been testing it too.

Sure, they just had to stop testing for a day... Just like we didn't have any cases for weeks, until we actually started to run test. Now, our confirmed cases numbers are growing, 'at an alarming rate...'

Has anyone else noticed that the homeless problem, seemed to be a non-issue, during this thing. One week, it's homeless plague fowling the streets of San Francisco, no it's now it's not news worthy. Do the homeless self-quarantine? I've never thought hygiene and sanitary practices were consideration of high priority for homeless people, walking plague.

I can't find out how many people in africa are currently taking chloroquine for malaria.
However, the corona virus isn't spreading quickly in africa. This could be for a number of reasons.
I have to ask my self, is it not spreading as much in africa because a large number of people are currently taking chloroquine?

keepit, you need to ask yourself if the coronaflu doesn't appear to be spreading due to the same reason that you can't find out other information, e.g. how many people in Africa are currently taking chloroquine for malaria.

Maybe incidents aren't being documented and information isn't being disseminated.

The virus it's self isn't deadly, it's the body's immune response that kills. In China, the animals were cooked for dinner, before they had a chance to be tested, or die from being infected. Wonder what the Chinese restaurant menu item, is actually bat chow mein...

pandemics have a big co-relation with conflict.

statistical proof suggests a strong link between disease and strained human relations.

disease usually breaks out in the event of a war or in due course of it. it affected Napoleon in Russia, Persians invading Greece and European Colonists.

Is human immunity stressed and vulnerable if humans are exposed to political strife at present levels? Is the socio-political equilibrium far too taxing on the human body?

Marxists will argue for me on this one.
