Harvey Oswald acted alone.

In the 1990s, we got some important details that hadn't been revealed in the Warren Commission report.

There was that gap in the CIA recordings of the Soviet Embassy in Mexico City.

The day Oswald was rejected for a visa to re defect to the Soviet Union.

Retired Soviet embassy personnel all heard him swear that he was going to kill President Kennedy, and finally revealed it 30 years later.

Cuban Embassy personnel in Mexico City also heard Oswald make the same threat/promise when he threw a temper tantrum because THEY wouldn't give him a visa either.

Castro himself took an interest in the guy after that. He asked for updates on that Oswald character, to find out if he was really going through with it.

At the peak of the Watergate scandal, Richard Nixon got desperate. He ordered Haldeman, I think it was, to take a warning to the CIA. Tell the CIA to put pressure on the FBI to stop the Watergate investigation. Tell them that if they don't "The Mexican stuff will come out".

"The Mexican stuff" referred to the bugs in the Soviet Embassy in Mexico City. That convenient gap in the tape precisely when Oswald was throwing his temper tantrum and announcing his intention to kill President Kennedy.

At it most potentially sinister, somebody in the CIA knowingly and deliberately prevented the information from being passed to the Secret Service. Then it was a coverup of complicity to erase that part of the tape recording.

At its most easily plausible, some INCOMPETENT CIA employee failed to take Oswald's recorded threat seriously. They didn't bother passing the information to the people in charge of protecting the president because they just didn't take the lunatic seriously. Then it was a coverup of incompetence to erase the tape.

And if Nixon had revealed that in 1974, it would have been a huge embarrassment to the CIA. No matter if the truth was that it was purely incompetence, many would have ASSUMED that the CIA WANTED Oswald to get his shot. But Haldeman never took the message to the CIA. They couldn't have stopped the FBI investigation anyway. Nixon was already toast.

The "magic bullet" theory was dependent on the schematics of a DIFFERENT car than Kennedy was in. The position of the passenger front seat relative to Kennedy, etc., was calculated from the WRONG vehicle blueprint in order to show an impossible path for a single bullet to strike two bodies.

The "recording" of shots from the grassy whatever turned out to be the sound of a motorcycle engine backfiring.
