There is no "controversy" over climate change, any more than there was a controversy over the dangers of tobacco smoke—a pseudo-controversy created by the same network of think tanks. That's why the United States stands alone in the civilized world in denying climate change, and why the new "drill, baby, drill" administration is set to undo the tiny amounts of progress we have made.

We are told that it was all invented by Al Gore, if so why is it warmer?

Planck's law describes the spectral density of electromagnetic radiation emitted by a black body in thermal equilibrium at a given temperature T.

The High Arctic Berserker (overall temperature fluctuations in the High Arctic, when the sun is below or very low on the horizon) has been over "average" temperature for 110 straight days. With the effect of direct solar warming greatly reduced, the HAB is declaring the effects of man-made global warming from increasing energy in the Earth's biosphere PLUS AGW energy from southern climes increasingly forcing into the Arctic regions. If not for 1 questionable day that may or may NOT have touched the "average" line, the HAB would be 125 days long. Beginning ~ the 65th day of the HAB, I had conservatively stated the HAB could easily pass the 100th straight day of over "average" temperature & that 150+ straight days could be in range.
Over the decades since satellite data has been gathering data on the Arctic above the 80th parallel, between ~ the 240th day of any year to ~ the 145th day of the succeeding year, the HAB has been rising slowly ABOVE the line of "average" temperatures. Tho I have conservatively mentioned 150+ straight days of over "average" temperatures, the HAB could continue to 200 straight days AND beyond. If NOT in the 2016-2017 period, certainly in future years, the lengthening days of the HAB most certainly will BE 200 straight days to 250 straight days(more?) ABOVE the "average" HA temperatures.

Yet again the same lie is wheeled out.

Us Skeptics do not deny that the world has warmer. Nobody says that human activity does not warm the planet either. Further few deny (or disagree) that CO2 has a warming effect.

The debate is to what degree this happens.

And even more importantly is it a problem?

The warming since 1998 when the IPCC's report came out with the predictions of warming by 4.2 degrees by 2100 (we have already had 0.8c of this) as the highest extreme cannot be considered still valid as the extremely slight to almost no warming seen since then surely has informed us all that even the lower end of their predictions is looking too high.

You're making stuff up again, Tim. There was no IPCC report published in 1998.

Sorry, yes you are right, the graph on the front cover of the IPCC's 4th assesment report was published in 1998.

None of the covers of the four parts of the 4th assessment report appear to show graphs.

What graph are you referring to?

That's because the self declared "skeptics" ... simply aren't skeptics. They don't question anything they're told about their religion. "Skeptics" oppose all science that blows huge holes in their faith, Stefan-Boltzmann being a great example.

As far as anyone knows, the earth could be cooling right now. We can't measure the earth's average global temperature to any useful accuracy. Nobody knows. However "skeptics" cannot abide not knowing and thus turn to the "Climate" religion for such divine answers.

Tim the plumber wrote: Nobody says that human activity does not warm the planet either. Further few deny (or disagree) that CO2 has a warming effect.

Science, however, explains clearly how that cannot happen.

It's physically impossible. Atmospheric composition cannot effect the earth's average global temperature. Check Stefan-Boltzmann.

"Skeptics" are science deniers in the truest sense of the term.

Tim the plumber wrote:

Science answers that question. ZERO. Check Stefan-Boltzmann.

Anyone who cites catechism from the "Climate Vatican" is a religious dupe, even if one is simply disputing some numbers.
