If you buy a car for a lot of money, it takes a lot of greenhouse gas production to bring that car to market. If that car doesn't save a whole lot of fuel it is not worth it. If a person drives only 10,000 miles a year (rough approximation) then it might be better to drive an older used car that maybe gets worse miles per gallon. At 30 or 40 thousand miles per year it gets to be worth maybe driving a hybrid. Less than that i'm not sure it is worth it to produce a new car. |

On that point, I understand that it also takes many pink lunar fairies to bring that car to market. Shouldn't we worry about those first? keepit wrote: If that car doesn't save a whole lot of fuel it is not worth it. Poor fuel consumption can be easily justified by the amount and type of work performed, or the power/capability brought to a job. In other words, it might be very well worth it. On the other hand, if it requires more that five pink lunar fairies to bring it to market then that's a deal breaker. . I don't think i can [define it].
