It is loony tunes ideas like this that is killing everyone's support for the renewable energy business. The BEST we have ever done is a 10% increase in power production with hundreds of acres of wind and solar farms. 5% is a GOOD year.

And how much does it cost to service hundreds of acres of windmills? Wind direction changes all the time. The blades follow wind direction. That requires lots of lubricant. That is expensive. We'll see what they do with millions of windmills sitting there after their service lives end.

High pressure grease is used on that joint. It is not expensive. It does not degrade either (much). It is considered permanent lubrication for the life of the machine.
