Just a bunch of random numbers. It is not possible to measure a global sea level. There is no reference point.
Land moves, you see.

Sea levels measured at a specific location over time also mean very little and is no indication of a global sea level at all.

Is the land sinking? Is erosion removing part of it? Is the land rising? All that is unknown. Even a GPS satellite fix is no better then +-100 ft, and THAT is based on a reference station in Boulder, CO, which is also mounted on land that is moving.

Whether it is a tidal station or a GPS reference station, it is the same problem. There is no reference point.

And who's to say the Moon isn't "behind" this? When you consider that high and low tide is determined by the Moon, then why can't it influences regional sea levels over the years? Without accounting for how the Moon's gravitational effect influences sea level, then we can't consider other things as well.

High and low tide occurs TWICE a day, dude. It is not caused by the Moon pulling water away from the surface of the Earth.

It is caused by the uneven gravity in the Earth-Moon system, and the two bodies orbiting each other. This is the primary influence on tides in general.

The same thing happens to a lesser extent with the Sun.

The same thing happens to an even lesser extent with the other planets (particularly Jupiter).

Tides are also heavily affected by land formations the tides are flowing around. Some places see a very large tide variance while others see very little. That's because of their land formations.

Perhaps you've heard of Deception pass? Dangerous to take any boat traffic through, unless you are AT high or low tide. There are several bodies of water like this.

Hood canal sees a larger tide variance than Elliot Bay in Seattle, and is also slightly delayed, due to it's long narrow shape and the 'hook' near the end of it near the town of Union.

Just Puget Sound has many different variances in tides and in their timing, due to all the little inlets, bays, narrow entrances, islands, etc. that are all through it. NOAA publishes some five different tide table books JUST for the Puget Sound region.

I agree with the satellite plus minus 100 foot. Its probably more like a kilometre.

It is within +-100 ft of the assigned sea level reference. Of course, this is a government designated reference point that has little to do with actual global sea level.

I can accept +- 100 foot. That is how much the GPS is sometimes out when getting directions on my I phone. The sea level rising seems to be a theory of what should happen however is not.I dedicated Tuesday afternoon to watching information on the pro rising scenario interesting stuff
