Look, I don't mean to appear"abrasive" ... but you did promise that the world would end and that you would leave us all alone.

The world ended and you need to leave us alone.

Mining Cryptocurrencies panned out years ago, very low chance of scoring any. Not sure how many made millions, when it was still a 'thing'. The only 'mining', that you are likely to do, is scamming, likely selling useless how-to schemes. On Hack-a-day.com, they have several articles about the hardware, firmware, and schemes people built to mine Cryptocurrency, all free.

Cryptocurrencies have more to do with the Dark Web. That's why they have value. It's untraceable. It's like if you buy child porn, no one can find you Harvey. Just nothing to give you away. That is only meant as an example of why people defend such positions.

p.s., Freedom of Speech exonerates my implicating Harvey in buying child porn online.

We already know about your child porn hobby, from the images you posted on one of your corn whiskey 'benders'. I would buy any pornography online, with a dial-up connection. Takes a while to load images on most websites, even this one, when you post a lot of them in the thread. Video takes minutes to load, only a few seconds of play time. I try to avoid such things, certainly wouldn't pay for the garbage you view. Not sure if you aren't being traced, just a small time pervert.

I never really understood cryptocurrencies, beyond what they are, and how they work. It's more the appeal and popularity, that puzzles me. Just don't see the trust and confidence. Just like don't know why you would buy child porn on line. How do you know the seller isn't a cop? Sheriff over in Polk county runs cyber crime stings all the time, a does busts every few months. Mostly, he focuses on child predators, and has detectives in chatrooms, or using phone apps. Has a house set up, and the perverts just come and knock on the door. Been doing them for years, and still makes dozens of arrests, in a day or two. Search for Sheriff Grady Judd on YouTube sometime, has a colorful way of describing the perverts he catches, entertaining, and disturbing.

Nope. Cryptocurrencies can be used to buy everything from hotel rooms in Las Vegas to products online to buying stuff on the Dark Web.

No. Have value because you can't just easily print more money, like the government does.

No. It is traceable. It is possible to analyze the blockchain to determine where a transaction too place and when. It takes a lot of work, but it's possible.

Cryptocurrentices, like Bitcoin, operate on a fairly simple set of principles, related to encryption techniques.

You may have already heard of public-private key encryption systems. These are based on a very large prime number to generate both a public key and a private key.

If encrypt using your private key and allow anyone to decrypt using your public key, that is effectively signing your message. It could only have come from you.

If someone encrypts using your public key, only you can decrypt using your private key. This means the message, no matter who it's from, can only be read by you.

You can use two pairs of keys.

If you encrypt using your own private key, then that cipher again using someone else's public key, then only they can decrypt the base cipher using their private key, and decrypt to the plaintext using your public key. Two encryptions, two pairs of keys. This guarantees the message could have only come from you, and can only be read by your intended recipient.

This is a bit like the blockchain that Bitcoin uses. This blockchain is encrypted. It is shared by all. It is a transaction log of private transactions (including Bitcoin creation). It grows longer with each transaction, since the transactions exist as long as the Bitcoin itself does.

This is the basic problem with Bitcoin and other blockchain currencies. This log is getting longer and longer, and hauling this thing around gets unwieldy, a bit like the old Host files became with the expansion of the internet. It was solved in somewhat the same way. The internet now uses a distributed database instead of host files. The blockchains are moving to a distributed database as well. You only need the pieces relevant to you, but it's all available on demand, should someone need a piece they don't have yet.

All blockchain currencies depend on their public private keys, and on the private keys of the Con creators. Bitcoin today is actually Bitcoin v2. Version 1 failed when the private keys used to create the Coins were cracked. The value of Bitcoin v1 went to zero overnight.

This could happen to Bitcoin v2, or any blockchain currency.

Another big problem is that a lot of exchanges for cryptocurrency aren't really exchanges. They are scam outfits taking your money and never issuing a Coin transaction.

And yet you lost. Get a clue. The dark web only asks for credit. No one can accept your identity. Credit transferred has no value. On the web, you have no value.

Why so you spend so much time on the dark web? I've never thought it a good idea, just like porn, and pirated software, you are just inviting viruses, and other harmful crap onto you computer. Anti-virus software just keeps up, you don't get protection, until after a new threat is discovered. I don't do any of that shady stuff, avoid clicking links in Emails, and in forum threads, which I don't recognize as safe. I never even open Emails, which I don't know the source. I've had viruses twice in the past, and they took a while to remove. Free software on the internet, isn't always free...

You should start your own cryptocurrency and rule the dark web.
