ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — A suspended Prince George's County police officer appeared briefly in Arlington District Court Wednesday for her arraignment.

Sierra Alston, who celebrated last spring in a social media post during Women's History Month, is now facing charges related to the unauthorized use of stolen cars.

Washington Metro Airport police arrested Alston on Oct. 3 for allegedly being involved with three BMWs stolen from the SIXT rental car company at Reagan National Airport.

According to court documents, this investigation is part of a larger probe into the theft of 30 cars from the company's lot. Alston was linked to three of the stolen vehicles because her police jacket and documents were found in one car, her phone's Bluetooth connected to a second car, and she was seen with the third car in D.C. police body cam footage.

When confronted last spring by an investigator, it is alleged that Alston claimed she took an Uber and lost her jacket. However, when told one of the cars was in front of her house, she allegedly claimed she didn't live there. Since last April, Alston has worked on light duty, reportedly due to her pregnancy. Now, she is suspended without pay.

As Alston left the court, she expressed her frustration with the media presence.

"Get those cameras out of my face!" Alston said to the media.
