Hummingbirds often hover while feeding, moving from flower to flower like a giant bee.

The orb "luna" in my video turns black when shaded from the Sun by the parachute, and turns white when not shaded from the Sun. That shows how Moon phases really work.

Spongy Iris, I have very reluctantly come to accept that my eyes are not capable of discerning when an AI image is trying to trick me.

I enjoy nature videos of animals in action. Wildlife photographers have succeeded in getting AMAZING footage of animals making impossible escapes from predators, for example.

I thought that I could ALWAYS spot the fakes. They used to be pretty crude.

In the past year I was trying to figure out how they staged the implausible animal fights. Polar bears and tigers don't often meet in the wild, but the footage looked pretty damn real. Others I had seen made me wonder if some much too wealthy SADIST was getting captured animals together on a ranch somewhere... pitting the gorillas against the hyenas, or the bears against lions.

A few months ago I saw yet another way a giraffe is able to defend itself against a lion. Crystal clear image looked like it was taken by a wildlife photographer in the field. Giraffes do have some pretty good defenses against lions.

But this one was literally impossible. A full grown male lion was grabbed in the jaws of the mother giraffe, defending her baby. She lifted that lion right off the ground with the strength of her neck, securely held in her jaws. She THREW that 500 pound lion HIGH into the air... like, WAY high.

I looked at that one over and over, hoping to see the clue that would prove it was AI. Other than the laws of physics. From every angle, up close.. not a clue that it wasn't a legitimate photo of the real thing. Not long after that I saw one with what looked like lions fighting in a natural setting, from a distance. Closer up, they weren't exactly lions. They had wings and raptor beaks, but four legs and a tail of what looked like a lion's body. I couldn't see any imperfections or anomalies in the image that I could say "Ah ha! that's a fake" But I strongly suspect that it was not real.

I suppose it's worth mentioning, it is built in for AI to get dumber and dumber as time goes on.

It has a limit of how much text it can store in its repository, which it learns & predicts patterns from.

When it hits the max, it needs to re-synthesize its text repository (or tokens as they call them). It has already started to pull from its synthesized data, and the hallucinations are on the rise.

Basically all the outlying patterns get filtered out.

It seems like an excellent tool for making the movie idiocracy a reality.
