FIGURING OUT EARTH'S PAST CLIMATE THROUGH PALEOCLIMATOLOGY AND ITS LESSONS FOR TODAY

https://hackaday.com/2021/08/11/figuring-out-earths-past-climate-through-paleoclimatology-and-its-lessons-for-today/#comment-6371734

Fairly long article, with lots of erotic, and colorful charts and graphs. None of that softcore, hockey-stick garbage. This is the real-deal, with links. Disgusting content aside, it's a pretty well written article, if you're into that sort of thing.

Thank you for posting the article. It shows that there are still people desperate to believe in that sort of thing.

I do not agree that the article is well written if it is not honest in the first place. I equate "dishonest" with "poorly written."

As I expect all terms to be defined, I naturally clicked on the hyperlink to check the definition of "Paleoclimatology" and it is a link to Wikipedia. Here's the first line:

Paleoclimatology
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paleoclimatology (in British spelling, palaeoclimatology) is the study of climates for which direct measurements were not taken.[1]

So I read the words "direct measurements were not taken" and I therefore expect the main article you posted to explicitly point out that the most that can come from this is exercise is wild speculation about the past, however the article clearly implies that the past is "what we know." Reading a little further in the article you posted, I see that the objective is to define contemporary history as "The Anthropocene" so as to declare this as the geological period whereby humans have destroyed the Climate.

So I will leave you with an exerpt from the article you posted, the "thesis statement" if you will ...

One might wonder what could be the golden spike that would indicate the end of the Anthropocene (that hotly debated 'human epoch' mentioned earlier) and the beginning of a new epoch. The pessimistic view there is that humanity may not be around to witness this change, and thus that it may not matter. For the optimistic view there is the notion that it could be the point where humanity found a way to avoid creating forcings that will ultimately end up destroying the habitat and climate on which it relies to survive.

So there you go.

I thought it was well written, but exactly as intend by the author. I does do a great job of illustrating the desperate nature, and failings. They confirm very clearly, that they only have opinion, speculation, and shady methodology to work with. Not the intent of the article, but should be pretty clear, to even the true-believer. Then again faith, requires very little thought. Something not many learn to practice in college anymore. Learning, seems to be more focused on memorize, and regurgitate.

Guess you missed the usual 'hockey stick' graph in the article.

It's the real propaganda, alright.

That's the best method to spread propaganda. This article is no different. It's someone that memorized, and is regurgitating.
