Bill Gates doesn't seem to be very good at the science thing, and he doesn't seem to understand that I don't need any reduction in carbon emissions.

The article seems to paint Bill as a doom-n-gloom catastrophist.

I don't think i can [define it]. I just kind of get a feel for the phrase. - keepit

IB STILL hasn't explained what Planck's Law means. Just more hand waving that it applies to everything and more asserting that the greenhouse effect 'violates' it.- Ceist

@Totototo - I find Gate's assessment inspiring. I can't say I admire everything he says, but I agree with him that the private sector will not address M2C2 (man-made climate change) as they are interested in their own short-term profits above all else. M2C2 is a global problem involving massive infrastructure investments which span national and international borders. No private sector company is going to take the lead in that challenge.

On the other side of the coin, M2C2 will require a WWII type of commitment from world governments and, given the state of world affairs, I am not hopeful that they are up to that kind of a task, today.

You seem to think that governments were unified in WWII. Even with the various alliances, there was little unity.

I guess you figure that fascism is the answer to global warming?
