Yes, I know how they did it in 1880, which is about as accurate a method as the one they use today. The ship captains periodically took a temperature reading, and recorded it. Nowadays we have buoys, and also measure the temperature of water as it is used by ships at sea.

So yup, it ain't spot on accurate. But, as inaccurate as it seems to be, it follows the global average pretty closely.

Science is not scientists. It is not even people at all. It is not data. Observation is not even part of science.

Science is just a set of falsifiable theories that describe nature.

What you have here is a math problem, not a science problem. There IS a branch of mathematics that deal with imperfections. It's called probability math. Statistical math is based upon it. Both are based on random mathematics. Because of this, these branches of mathematics do not have the power of prediction anymore. It is lost because of Domain translation and the nature of random numbers.

As a result, statistics has no power of prediction. It can only summarize past or present events.

Just because you want to ignore what the future of our planet is, it doesn't mean everyone does. The prophecies of the Bible are very relevant in this forum, because they describe the result of Global Warming in a detail that cannot be seen from a totally logical perspective. In other words, we can't imagine correctly what will happen as a result of Global Warming. Some scientists predict this, while others predict that, and still others predict something else.

The prophecies of the Bible clearly warn us of the consequences of Global Warming, and give us a clear picture of what's ahead, because of Global Warming and Climate Change. There is no other resource, unless you want to include other prophecies from around the world. And they predict the same things, just from different perspectives.

So I will continue posting my opinion in here, which is influenced heavily from my research in prophecy, and also my research in Global Warming. And I will support my opinion with whatever I want to, just like everyone else.
