Only the tropics are tropical, Wake. Poles are never tropical, since they are nowhere near the latitudes we call 'tropic'. Whether Antarctica has always been at the south pole is the question, not whether the pole was 'tropic'. Ice cores are BS, nothing to compare the findings. Guess if you have enough faith, they can let you see the past, present, and future, if you apply the right sequence of random numbers... How do the choose dates, and how old. Ice melt, freezes, refreezes, many times during the year. Precipitation is another piece of guess work. How would they know if there was a few really warm years, melted thousands of layers?
