Bitumen is coal. That is carbon, not a hydrocarbon.

At the La Brea tar pits where many fossils have been found, the bitumen came from the oil field next to it. Bitumen is also used for asphalt.

So you are saying coal comes from oil?

Coal comes from a similar process. Pressure and heat. When coal seams stretch for only a 1,000 miles at most, it suggests they are the result of a river and not a sea. A sea "seems" to create a "field" and not a "seam".

And guys, if you're not one of the major a$$hole$ in here, no worries.

Walk down the produce aisle of your local grocery store and buy an assortment of fruits and vegetables. When you arrive at home, place them in a bowl and let them decompose. Report back when you have a combustible hydrocarbon.

How do you know? Have you made coal synthetically?

Coal is found in seams and also over large areas.

So, since global warming was simulated in lab, it has to be real, and the one and only? Are you a democrat? Or is the absurd logic, just part of the debate game?

I'm going to hold to the notion that things are done differently in nature, than what can be synthesized in a lab. When it comes down to faith, I avoid churches that serve Kool-aid...

What is clear is that something I wrote put a nasty bug up your azz and I am neither sure what it was specifically that I wrote nor why you object.

Are you saying that the Fischer-Tropsche reaction somehow does not occur in nature? Are you saying that high temperatures and pressures are not needed to produce hydrocarbons?

If you'd tell me what your objection/concern is specifically I'd stand a much better chance of properly addressing it.
