To give you some idea of why Obama was so extremely stupid about climate change - his chief science advisor was Dr. John Holdren.

He really didn't need to know the details, only that there was the potential for a lot of money, just waiting to disappear, and no one would bother looking for it. Probably never know how many billions the IPCC burns through, since most of it goes toward video games...
