In that mess of stuff at the bottom - who is it that was saying that you don't understand Plank's law? Or how it applies to the modified blackbody that is the entire Earth and not "the atmosphere" which they apparently believe can be differentiated from the Earth as a whole? While thinking back to the energy balance of the Earth and how it's being treated as a blackbody I realized that is a great oversimplification. During the winter the cold expanded towards mid-Canada & even south to the western U.S. Continental U.S. heat, pumped from the Gulf of Mexico, drove the cold toward Alaska & on towards eastern Siberia. From Siberia the cold moved into the High Arctic, assisted by the 24 hours of darkness. Rapidly the FAB cooled till it was a scant half degC above the High Arctic average, where as said, it almost died. But a few days of Heat revitalized FAB & it left its deathbed. It has recovered to 6degC over-temperature, now extending its life to 170+ days, which is twenty days longer than any other High Arctic over-temperature has ever lasted (3-4 TIMES the length of any HA over-temperature in the late 1950's to early 1960's.
