It's not at all surprising that that is all you got from our conversations. If you close you eyes tightly enough perhaps you'll see nothing at all but what you imagine.

Wake,
I believe our climate is changing and you don't. I believe ice ages are cyclical and you don't. Kind of why your opinion doesn't matter to me.

I believe that any changes in our climate are natural and that man has nothing to do with it. I have expressed this in every possible way and you still haven't gotten my position correct. Maybe your medication is giving you some memory problems? Generally you get used to the medication over time and it isn't such a strain on your memory.

The fact is that you and I are very close on most points but you get upset if you are corrected. Cyclical is defined as "occurring in cycles" and that imposes regularity. Ice Ages do not appear to be all that regular. But they do occur often enough to recognize that they do occur.

Wake,
It is up to you to show the value of your opinion. I haven't seen you post anything of interest to myself.

@All,
With my other project, a forum I tried pursuing it in took a strong disliking to me. I let them know that since I am almost finished with it that the only thing I could discuss was how I was going about finishing it. People in the past weren't up for discussing engineering.
With climate change, if my experiment works then one thing to be taken from it is that we still have much to learn. Kind of why people need to be flexible with their opinions when it comes to climate change. And in the end I doubt it will be one person's opinion that will matter.
One reason for this is sustainability. An example of this is that the Ogallala Aquifer is going dry. Conservation will only slow this but will not allow for sustainability. And since the U.S. has a growing population sustainability becomes very important. And this is an example of Localized Climate Change.

For Christ sake's James, I am an electronics engineer and if you needed advice I would be more than happy to help you. Instead you come on here and argue about silly things and get mad for people mentioning it.

You had better stop thinking that any natural asset is permanent and immutable.

You see that people in socialism Venezuela are presently starving to death and fleeing to Panama where they think that the assistance of the US government will keep them from actually having to work for a living.

In Great Britain, socialized medicine has gone broke. In Canada it is close to that stage.

I think that you ought to start living in the real world. I understand that you've been sick and that it is difficult for you but from this posting it seems that everyone is telling you the same thing I am.

Wake,
You mean like telling me that my mother was a slut who let an alcoholic Norwegian sailor knock her up ?
Nope, only you told me that.
I also think your bigoted attacks on ITN are unacceptable. If you lived around the Puget Sound you'd know that both ITN and litesong are Native Americans. I find it difficult to think otherwise.
I can even tell you that GasGuzzler doesn't tell me what you do. When discussing things in here, what he drives isn't the issue.
I think you're off on your own tangent. I think you desire to validate yourself by discrediting others. If your opinions had any real intrinsic value then you would not feel threatened by others having their own opinions, but you do.

@ITN,
For the fun of it, you need to define climate change, etc is for yourself. With each person their own opinion might vary. And if you choose not to accept that science does pursue a consensus that is your own opinion. Otherwise progress could not be realized because science would conflict with itself. This is where a consensus allows for a common perspective. Of course you do know this, you just like messing with people sometimes.
And remember the quote I gave you ? There is no ultimate truth. There is only the moment and what you choose to do with it.

I lived in Seattle and Moses Lake and I'm aware of the people in the area and you are not. I visited most of the towns and cities in the state and the adjoining Idaho. I suggest you stop telling people about all you do not know or understand.

Nightmare telling us that the locals were friendly to the natives? The Indians thought that women were property and the founding fathers of Seattle ran gambling and whore houses that they stocked with Indian women.

That was the fate of those "friendly well treated native Americans" and you aren't even aware of it. Until Irish Catholics arrived and started putting their foot down Seattle was nothing more than a den of thieves. Except for the Seattle area people in the rest of Washington hold more than a bit of distaste for Seattle-ites.

You and your nightmare pal and your talk of bigotry when faced with facts is pretty funny. I am a minority and I grew up with minorities listening to crap like nightmare puts out. I called my old childhood friend the other day. He is a retired Chief Master Sargent from the Marine Corp who was stationed in DC his entire tour after growing up in Roosevelt's concentration camps. You have to F-ing idea what that did to an entire generation who cannot even smile. Or the blacks who were dragged into the dirt under Obama and his "black leaders" who got rich throwing crap at their own people.

You three would make a good couple. Between you you have a single brain.

I doubt this statement. You have shown you know very little about what instrumentation is capable or not capable of, very little about radio propagation, or even what a frequency or wavelength is.
Wake wrote:

Condescending statement from the ignorant, and a lie. You are not happy to help anyone. You just insult people.

Litebeer is, I am not (other than being born in America). My ancestry contains only a small amount of Native American blood. The rest is Scot-Irish and Maori.

Obvious.

Here there is a ring of truth, but it goes both ways. YOU feel threatened by Wakes opinions as well.
James_ wrote:

I do not need to define it at all. I say it's a buzzword. I do not need to define a buzzword.
James_ wrote:

I have never seen anyone define it without using circular definitions. Would you care to try?
James_ wrote:

Science is a set of falsifiable theories that describe nature. Consensus is not a part of science.
James_ wrote:

The lack of the requirement for consensus in science is WHY it progresses.
James_ wrote:
because science would conflict with itself.

Not because of consensus, it is because no theory may conflict with any other theory (external consistency). If one did, one of the two theories would necessarily have to be falsified.
James_ wrote:

Not used in science.
James_ wrote:

Not used in science.
James_ wrote:

Calling me a liar isn't helping your argument.
James_ wrote:
And remember the quote I gave you ? There is no ultimate truth. There is only the moment and what you choose to do with it.

Redirecting into a void argument is not helping your argument.

Here's the problem with consensus:

First, the theory that Christ exists, and he is who he says he is (namely the Son of God);

There is a consensus that this theory is true. They are called 'Christians'. This consensus is worldwide.

Next, the theory that no god or gods exist:

There is a consensus that this theory is true. They are called 'atheists'. This consensus is worldwide.

so...out of consensus, you have built yourself a paradox. BOTH theories can't be true; yet they are BOTH supported by consensus.

Science doesn't use consensus. It is used for politics and religions only.

A flat out lie. Women are highly honored among the tribes here. Always have been.

Neither owned any whore house...ever. Whorehouses were brought in by people from California, the San Francisco area actually, YOUR part of the world. Stocking them with indian girls was a decision made by the whore house operators, not by the tribes, dumbass.

I think he's starting to get scared now. Still, it is no excuse for the way he's lashing out at others. Besides, I think I realized something important about the basis of climate change. I sent the information to my local newspaper to consider. I even sent them some Holy Links since I don't have a Ph.D. It is interesting what someone can learn if they take the time to discuss things.
As far as this forum and Wake goes, it's kind of a person's opinion and how they represent themselves that should matter.

Apparently your knowledge of Seattle history is "Here come the brides".

And I see that you still haven't even bothered to look up why you would need to know emissivity or how DNA operates. Most people know that you can not only tell the country that people come from but if they are purely from that country you can tell the immediate area they are from. i.e. Obama who is supposedly of a Nigerian father is in fact a Morro. But since you don't know what that is either you can say something about it.

The total ignorance that comes from you is amazing. What does a thermal imaging camera have to do with the Stefan-Boltzman Law?

We are engineering DNA to the point where CRISPR technology can cut and replace defective DNA and eliminate many genetic diseases and the only problem now is the moral decision of whether man should act as God. But you tell us that we don't know anything about it. We not only know the EXACT shape of the DNA molecules but most of the operations of the string that composes the ball-like shape that the string assumes.

Yes you moron, genetics tells you the entire history of not just the human race but of every closely related species. This is how we know that Homo Sapiens started in two different widely distant locations simultaneously. We know that there were at least two different Homo variations that were not closely related to Homo Sapiens and died out. This is how we know that Europeans carry DNA remnants from Neanderthal and African's do not meaning that there was some cross-breeding among them in Europe.

Have you ever in your life every wondered about anything? From your damn ignorance of science it's pretty plain that you are really stupid and that the only way you even know about the Stefan-Boltzmann law is that someone forced you to believe it even if you simply don't understand it. You are EXACTLY the same as the True Believers simply from a different angle.

ITN,
There is no church called the Church of Global Warming.
Most people (IMHO) who consider climate change or global warming could also be called environmentalists.
When I lived in Seattle, environmentalists were called "Tree Huggers". They were also called the church of caring about the land. They're bad people, like really bad if you know what I mean.
They wanted to protect old growth forests and the spotted owl.
And as far as you and Wake goes, that's why we will never be able to get along. I think sustainable living is possible. But that requires problem solving. And you do love your circular arguments. That's where you and Wake are codependent on each other. And that's not a pretty thing to watch.

Sorry James but there is. The overwhelming majority of people talking about AGW do not know a single thing about it. That means that they take it entirely on faith that there is such a thing. And there isn't. So their continued arguing for the existence and danger of such a thing a purely religious endeavor.

Of what worth do you see "old growth forests" are over new growth such as tree farms that are part of agriculture everywhere? Hell, the growth is so slight in these old growth forests that they die out under the slightest ecological strains.

Giant Sequoias simply fall over in the wind and this is part of the method they expand their range - the root base has multiple fledglings growing around the old base.

The spotted owl was never in danger from cutting down old growth forest but from pollution killing off it's prey. The cutting continues and the bird population has stabilized with the stopping of pollution that was killing off it's prey.

You CANNOT be a real environmentalist and believe that stupid slogans and inane theories will somehow save the planet. And that is what the Environmentalist movement has become. A joke. The EPA themselves now cause more pollution than they prevent.

ITN,
There is no church called the Church of Global Warming.

There certainly is. I coined the name for the religious belief in 'global warming'.

All religions are based on some initial circular argument. The initial circular argument for the Church of Global Warming is that the Earth is warming from some unspecified time X to some unspecified time Y (Y usually being the present time).

It is not possible to measure the temperature of the Earth.

The circular argument by itself is not a fallacy. Failure to recognize one for what it is becomes the fallacy. The other name for the circular argument is 'faith'.

You have no data. None is available. Your entire belief is one based on faith. It is the religion I call the Church of Global Warming.

James_ wrote:

Nope. Environmentalism is the last thing on their minds. Marxism is the first thing on their minds. Actual environmentalists approach practical problems and solutions.
James_ wrote:
When I lived in Seattle, environmentalists were called "Tree Huggers".

Only the religious ones.
James_ wrote:
They were also called the church of caring about the land.

They don't care about the land. They care about destroying the 'evil' industry and their 'evil' owners and managers. They care about Marxism.
James_ wrote:
They're bad people, like really bad if you know what I mean.

Marxism is bad. It's evil. It destroys. It does not create.
James_ wrote:
They wanted to protect old growth forests and the spotted owl.

The spotted owl doesn't live in old growth forests. There is no food there. The like taller trees on the edge of younger forests, where they can get a good 'birds eye view' and plenty of game to catch.
James_ wrote:

WRONG. They were never in danger at all. This poor bird has been nothing more than a scapegoat used by the government to seize lands. More of these birds were shot by ranchers than at any other time. Better to shoot them and not let anyone know before some nut finds it living on your land and the government takes your land from you.

litesong,
I really can't say anything about your post. Your husband didn't do the same thing to you that he does to other people. Between him and Wake, a lot of discussions come back to their mind games. I could explain why what you posted matters but can't.

It doesn't matter. It's just more random numbers. That's what litebeer does.

What ? No "void argument" or "fallacy inversion", "argument of the rock" or define what climate change is without using any circular arguments while saying "holy link" deleted ?
Or
litesong : North Pole is thawing, today.

what ITN isn't saying". It isn't, fallacy inversion or argument of the stone.

deleted holy link. Learn to think for yourself.

That's what's missing ITN. You can't go after your wife, can you ? But you can go after everybody else. I think that's why you and Wake get along so well.
Of course your wife did make negative comments about me when I tried explaining why what she posted isn't a surprise but should be expected. That was a few weeks ago. Kind of why I know what her last post is about.

Arctic current changes due to lesser Arctic sea ice, may account for excess levels of radium in the mid-Arctic Ocean.

The radium could just as easily come from a vent in the sea floor. It has to come from within the Earth. That's Geology 101. There are areas where radium is but it's the uranium that's mined. This means that radium comes from within the Earth.

Radium has an abundance of about 1 part per trillion in the Earth's crust, according to Chemicool.
https://www.livescience.com/39623-facts-about-radium.html

Something puts it in the current. Follow it to it's source and you'll probably find a deep fault or a large vent that's dumping a lot of hot water into the bottom of the sea.

And the best part litesong ? Melting glaciers will only increase the effect.

@All, will be going home Thursday, will focus on my other project.
From what I understand it seems that most of the people in here haven't spent much time learning the argument for and against climate change. And without knowing why ice ages are cyclical then we can't really know what effect we're having. And this is a part of why ice ages have cycles.

Since you ain't got no "sigh-ants" paper, you ain't got no validity....'cept on an AGW denier liar whiner webcyst(correct sp.). Many areas were tested. Later follow-ups should determine if excess radium is coming from one fissure or from an entire region(large continental shelf). But, that idea should have easily appeared in the data. At this point, it appears james is force-fitting data to fit his needs for its pet scenario.

litesong,
I used to think you were okay but not anymore. All you seem to have is saying "Of course, old sick silly sleepy sleezy slimy slimebarf filthy vile reprobate rooting(& rotting) racist pukey proud pig AGW denier liar whiners don' beliet all this'n, but tha's OK. They's don' count, no way, 'cause their AGW denier liar whiner math don' count, no right way."
That is the group that you just put me in. Not sure how you can justify putting me in the same group (everyone but you and ITN?) that you consider as being racist. Maybe you need to do more research on geology and climate change ?
I know, attacking people is easier than taking the time to consider something.

James,
He mocks people with no science but he can't tell us what makes the wind blow. He thinks hurricanes can be stopped by windmills, and he thinks everything on CNN is gospel truth.
Definitely not okay.
Good to hear you get to go home.

Glad to hear that you are improving James. Remember that I offered to help you if you need some engineering assistance.

But please don't infer that what has baffled scientists for hundreds of years is simple and you personally know what causes ice ages or that they are cyclical simply because they occur now and again.
