Without prior experience they have to believe that anything that happens has never happened before. And article in an 1871 newspaper made the same observation. That people that make long term records of the weather ALWAYS say that this year is the hottest, the coldest, the windiest or the rainiest on record. When you looked at the claim that 2015 was the hottest ever on record you discovered that the temperature difference for 10 years was 1/10th of the possible errors. All it would have taken to set a new record would be to round off one of the temperature records to the third decimal point to set a "new" hottest year ever. |
